About Mahashakti Foundation
The Mahashakti Foundation (MSF) is a community-based microfinance institution that delivers quality financial services to poor households in rural Orissa. It was established in 2004 by founded by a group of professionals in Kalahandi, West Orissa. Milaap partners with MSF to provide affordable access to solar lighting and reduced-smoke cook- stoves – a safe, clean alternative to costly, toxic kerosene lamps and inefficient stoves. The Milaap-MSF partnership also provides affordable education loans to children and youth from low-income families, and empowers the women with loans for enterprise development.
