About Gravity
In April 2011, Milaap initiated GRAVITY, an integrated program that trains high school to college dropouts and graduates, finances their studies, and builds secure linkages with potential employers. For this initiative, Milaap has partnered with Grameen Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. (GFSPL), one of India’s largest livelihood support organizations that caters to low-income households, especially women. Milaap lenders provide loans so students can enroll for training with GFSPL. Students learn practical skills like accounts management, sales communication, customer servicing, and team management. On graduation, the program helps students find jobs, and they start repaying their Milaap loans. Recruiters include reputed retail chain outlets, supermarkets, micro-finance institutions, business process outsourcing centers (BPOs) in rural areas, and manufacturing facilities.
