The Gramalaya Microfin Foundation (GMF), founded in 2011 in Thillainagar, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, is a non‐profit organization that drives the economic empowerment of rural women. GMF aims to eradicate poverty through livelihood‐promotional activities and increased access to financial services. Milaap partners exclusively with GMF on its integrated program to train and launch rural entrepreneurs. Interested women sign‐up for GMF’s Gramalaya Entrepreneurs Associates (GREAT) training program where they learn one of 25 income‐generating skills, like tailoring, poultry‐farming, etc. Milaap loans help these GREAT graduates to setup independent production units. They sell their products through networks, locally and across India, reaping profits and economic empowerment.
