The child’s parents Venkatesh and Nandini got married at the late age and only after 5 years they were blessed with a boy baby. He is a premature baby and was diagnosed with chronic lung disease at Kade hospital. Medical interventions were started and were asked to continue at home. The parents tried their level best in getting their only child treated but in between the child faced some health complications like breathing difficulties and hence was shifted to the same hospital and was admitted in NICU for 2-3 days to eradicate infection of lungs and was discharged. Again after 5 months he developed the same problem and the doctor referred them to Jain hospital. As there was no PICU facility was referred to MHB and was admitted in the PICU under Dr. Shivakumar and is on medical intervention and is kept on observation.
Here the child was diagnosed to have Chronic Lung Disease/ Pneumonia/ Severe pulmonary hypertension and is on medical intervention and observation. He might need atleast a week or so to recover and for the doctor to observe the developments before discharge.
Venkatesh is a teacher at a private institute- Rs. 5000 and Nandini is teacher at government school - Rs. 32000 but she had borrowed money from her friends and colleagues for the child’s treatment her entire salary goes repaying amount. They are dependent on Venkatesh’s salary and the left out amount of Nandini’s salary. Since 1.5 years patient is on treatment and parents have spent around Rs. 1500000 for the child’s treatment itself and the bill amount at MHB has come up to Rs. 99000 + medicines is Rs. 15000/- Further they might require around Rs. 600000 for the child’s treatment.
