Sponsorship for Jagriti Yatra 2016
Who am I?
My name is Sanjana Srivastava. I reside in a small town Sitapur in state of Uttar Pradesh, India . I am an engineering graduate from computer science. I have passion for social entrepreneurship in Manufacturing, water & sanitation and environment domain. I am managing my social ventures (an NGO- Mahila Evam Bal Kalyan Sansthan and a Khadi enterprise under KVIC) in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh from more than last 3 years since completion of graduation, NGO working for deprived and underprivileged women and poor children in the field of education, water and sanitation and environment protection and Khadi orgnization providing employment to rural areas through village industries in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. I had the courage to opt out of working in a company and choose working in my NGO and follow my passion. I always maintained that resilience in spite of seeing bad times and it always worked for me. From the early childhood I always had inclination to do something for underprivileged section of society. I had the Spirit of helping poor and deprived section of society and their blessings provided satisfaction and strength to my soul and has been my driving force until now. To start walking on an unconventional path and living it is always difficult as it is opposite to the norms set up by the society but now working for a social cause and in social sector has become motto of my life.
About Jagriti Yatra-
Jagriti Yatra is a 15-day long, national train journey that will take me 8000 kilometers across the length and breadth of India, to understand and build the India of smaller towns and villages through enterprise. I will meet role models, change-makers, leaders that started out on a journey just like me and made a difference to thousands of lives. I will forge bonds with like-minded young leaders- my co-Yatris and complete strangers. They will become my closest friends and comrades for life. I will be exposed to role models who are building India through enterprise; through them I will find inspiration to undertake building my own journey through entrepreneurship.
Motivation to go on the Yatra:
As a young girl from a small town of U.P. running an NGO from a very young age and having a long term goal to take ahead my social enterprises in the field of water & sanitation, environment and Khadi manufacturing through village industries and to amplify the employment for rural mass specially women living in remote rural areas in my region through skill development and employment programs of social ventures. Selected from thousands of applicants nation and worldwide from a smaller town to join this Yatra, with the goal of creating awareness and start a movement of 'building India through enterprise' I am very much interested to collaborate with fellow Yatris whose thoughts and area of interest resonate with mine and on the same time I will have the chance to see and know the rural India from close and get the exposure of different cultures, people and region of India. I want to be the part of the meaningful and knowledgeable debates over entrepreneurial topics and issues of the nation where exchange of thoughts and ideas among co-Yatris will take place. I will have the chance to meet and interact with entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs who are bringing unique solutions to the major problems of the society and that would help me realize my long term goal- and contribute towards nation's development by exaggerating economic and social development of rural sector which contribute to 70% on India and making a economically and socially strong India. That's why I think I deserve sponsorship and I hope people after reading this will help me in this noble cause to achieve a noble dream.
Required Sponsorship-
The fee of the Yatra is 62,000 INR and Jagriti Team awarded me part sponsorship of Rs 28,000/- and now I am seeking external sponsorship.
Total amount needed to fund the 2016-17 Jagriti Yatra is- 6,000 INR (Registration charges) + 28,000 INR (Yatra fee) = 34,000 INR.
So I am very actively seeking sponsors as soon as possible who can help me with an amount of 34,000 INR.
