We are deeply saddened to announce that Alankrit Dey passed away on November 11th at Fortis Malar, Chennai after a multiorgan failure around 11:00 AM. We offer our deepest condolences to the family. May his soul rest in peace.

Why am I fundraising?

Master Alankrit Dey, 5 yrs old is a student of KG class in The Calcutta Boys’ School. He is suffering from severe cardiac disorder and needs Heart Transplant as per Dr’s suggestion on an urgent basis. He was admitted to Apollo Gleneagles Kolkata. Attaching Apollo Dr’s feedback for your reference.

After Kolkata Doctor’s advice Alankrit is now admitted at  Fortis Mallar Chennai under Dr. Balakrishnan. According to Dr. Balakrishnan the kid’s condition is very critical and needs to do Heart Transplantation on an urgent basis. He is at present in ICU and his heart performance has gone down to 20%. His liver is also affected due to which he is constantly vomiting and can’t intake food at this moment. Heart registration is already done for the transplantation. Once the heart is available, Doctor will go for the operation, depending on the stability of the child.

 

Doctor has given an estimate of 25 Lakhs for the Heart transplantation.

 

They belong to normal middle-class family and it is not possible for them to go through this expensive process since they could manage only a portion of the amount. Hence, they have no other option but to rely entirely on the generosity of individuals/organizations who can help them financially. But without the assistance of generous minded individuals, the entire process of treatment cannot be started.

What do I plan to do with the funds?

This fund is needed to transplant heart for Alankrit. The hospital is in the process of the searching an appropriate healthy heart to conduct the operation and informed the parent to keep 75% of the amount(~19L INR) ready. As soon as they get an appropriate heart will operate.
