Why are we fundraising?
9 of our Baale Mane girls are running the TCS 10k this year, to fundraise for their current and future sisters at Baale Mane.
The girls are fundraising so that Baale Mane can continue providing more girls with our high-quality care; this year, we hope to take between 5 and 9 new girls into Baale Mane. Baale Mane is also aiming to expand the life skills opportunities for all of our girls. Additionally, we provide girls who have turned 18 with living costs during their college degrees and vocational training courses and so these 9 girls are also fundraising for the girls who will be living independently this year.
What do we plan to do with the funds?
Funds raised through the TCS 10k will go towards Baale Mane's care, wellbeing and independence programmes. For girls living at Baale Mane, it will provide 3 healthy and nutritious meals a day, clothing and living costs, activities and care-planning and life skills sessions. For our older girls, it will provide living costs, accommodation and costs for personal development opportunities.
FAQs
Baale Mane is home to up to 50 ‘sisters’, all from disadvantaged backgrounds. We focus on giving the girls a happy, healthy and fulfilling childhood in the home and provide them with a good education, care-planning and life skills programmes, and opportunities for creative expression. We aim to enable each girl to live a self-sustaining and independent life by equipping them with the necessary skills and confidence as they grow into young women.
