Dear Supporters,

It has been little over 2 months since little Omkar passed away. The parents have been doing their best to recover from this tragic loss and get back to their routine lives. We share this update with some important news. Most of funds raised for Omkar were used for his treatment. The parents had also received help offline where the funds were transferred to Alankar Mogare's account. Post reconciliation, a total of 3 lakhs rupees was found unused.

Most of supporters recommended the funds be utilised to help kids who are in need of medical help. So per Alankar Mogare's request, we donated 50,000 INR to 6 kids whose parents are fighting similar battles that Omkar's parents were few months ago. Sharing their names below.

Tanaya: Tanaya is a 16 years old girl from Kolkata who has been diagnosed with Relapsed Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a rare type of cancer last year and needs a stem cell transplant and aggressive chemotherapy to be cancer free. Her father is a peon in a private firm. His employer, Kausik is fundraising on Milaap for Tanaya’s treatment.

Baby Ganyasri: Baby Ganyasri is 2-year-old from Tamil Nadu. She has been diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia and needs a stem cell transplant. Her father is very poor and has already spent  2-3 lakhs on treatment and medicines. His monthly income is not more than 9000 INR. A stem cell transplant requires 10 lakhs and there is no way her family can arrange for the same. Parents, Vinodh and Jayashri have been working hard but with their meagre wages they can barely afford food and shelter for the family.

Baby Akshaya: Baby Akshaya will be 1 year old but her birthday might be a painful one without immediate medical attention. She suffered from severe scald burns on 14 March, 2017 and she is currently admitted in Apollo Hospitals and is undergoing treatment for cleaning and collagen. The estimated cost of the treatment is roughly around 4 lakhs. The parents do not have enough financial support to pay for their daughter's crucial treatment. Any help to save Baby Akshaya would mean the world to this family.

From October 2015 to 2016 he had to be hospitalized more than 15 times as he stopped taking any milk. In medical terms, he is diagnosed as IL10 Receptor with Inflammation Bowel disease. Dear Supporters,
It is with extreme sadness and heavy heart I inform you that little Omkar passed away today, 24 January at 2:15pm at Wadia hospital.

His condition got critical and his heart beat just kept deteriorating from 12pm today. We bought Omkar's body back home in Thane. The final rites will be performed tonight.

We thank you for your support to Omkar. It was because of your love and support, he received the treatment and care from the best medical team possible. We couldn't save Omkar! But your faith and blessings can save several Omkars in future and save a life. Keep the faith!

Please keep the family in your prayers and may they find strength to bear this irreversible loss.

Warmly,
Amrita

Hi All,
As per many doctors suggestion, Omkar needs aggressive paedetric care where a team of doctors can take care of this case. As mentioned earlier Omkar needs a very long term treatment in hospital which needs funds.
Myself and Omkar s father went to Wadia hospital,Parel which is respected children hospital in Mumbai to understand if we can shift him there for better care at affordable cost.

Today Omkar is being shifted to Wadia hospital, Parel for further treatment and care. He is still under guarded prognosis and hence there is 50-50 chances of his recovery as per Doctors. We are hopeful and trying our best to help Omkar in whatever way we can. Request you to all keep Omkar in your prayers and also encourage your friends to contribute whatever little they can for his treatment.
