Dr. Rasmita Nayak has become a movement of inspiration for Sabar tribe girls from Gajapati district of Odisha to aspire to study and become doctors to heal the world. Her life, though short , has become a beacon of hope and motivation for thousands. Her family and friends are slowly recovering from the trauma of her sudden and untimely demise. Let's pray that this Christmas and New Year ushers in peace, hope and resilience to her near and dear ones.

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for the wonderful support. I have some unfortunate news to share with you today. Dr Rasmita had undergone her first chemotherapy and was recovering from the same. During this period she had a cardiac arrest and the doctors tried reviving her but she could not make it.

Please pray for her soul to rest in peace.

Thank you!

The reports indicate a diagnosis of Uterine Leiomyosarcoma -Stage IV, spreading (metastasised) to both the lungs.  Uterine leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a smooth muscle tumour that arises from the muscular part(myometrium) of the uterus. It is a rare and malignant tumour i.e. cancer.Till now, her ovaries are fine.
