Hi,

I just thought I'd give you an update. Considering the Coronavirus situation in the country, classes ended rather abruptly. Halfway into March we were told that all schools would be closed till the 31st March. Our final exams were scheduled from 20th March to the 29th.

An hour ago, we received news that the government has cancelled final exams for students from grade 1 to 8. This is pretty heartbreaking for both the kids and me as we were hoping to finish the year strong, and together. I am not sure when I will see the kids again, as their teacher in our classroom, as it seems the school year has ended.

Regardless, we are trying to keep the kids motivated and on task so that they continue learning during this difficult time and don't lose sight of the goals we had set together. We send students work everyday on whatsapp, and get on calls or send voicenotes to them in the evening to explain material/ correct their mistakes. The kids have shown a lot of strength and are still studying hard, even if they are not going to be tested. This gives me a lot of hope. So here's some pictures that I hope will make you hopeful as well. :)

Thank you so much for your contribution. The kids were able to experience and grow so much this year because of it.

Regards,
Priyanka

Hi!

Last week, the kids took to the streets to raise awareness about the harms of color based discrimination.

They performed a street play at the station and they did it beautifully! :)

Here are some pictures-

Hi!

Our classroom library is finally up. The books are arranged according to the reading levels of the kids. The purpose behind this is to ensure that students are able to read independently and can actually enjoy the story instead of it becoming a purely educational practice.

Names are listed on each basket so the kids know where to pick their books from. I constantly test them, so when I see them moving up in levels, will shift them to more challenging books.

Thank you for your support! :)
