Every other day we wake up to another thing that Priyanka does that makes our hearts swell with pride!
Earlier this month, we came in touch with an organization that was looking for a young woman leader to speak with over 250 girls. These girls belong to a tribal area in Gujarat and are currently working with a leading textile company in Ahmedabad. The organization was looking for a young woman leader to share her life journey to motive these girls to be a part of a two-year program that they are undertaking for the overall personality and career development of these girls.
When we told Priyanka about this opportunity, she was apprehensive for a minute about addressing such a huge crowd, but the moment she realized how much it could impact these girls, she agreed.
On the morning of the session, as we drove to the venue, she was a little nervous. But well, all of that seemed to vanish the moment she was on stage. She spoke like she owned the stage, cracking small jokes at times, but mostly sharing her entire life journey with honesty. The girls laughed with her at relatable jokes and applauded her for her achievements. I've known her story and heard it before, but it still gave me goosebumps.
After the session, so many girls walked up to her and expressed how in awe they were of all she had achieved, and how they wanted to work towards their dreams too. We even had a girl who wasn't enrolled in the program yet, approach the admin and request to be a part of the 2-year program.
One thing which Priyanka said at the end of the session that stuck with me is - "You get at least one opportunity in life, it is up to you to make the most of it". She got hers, and she made the most of it.
The journey that we all started back in 2018 has not only impacted Priyanka but over 250 other girls now. All of this wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for your confidence in her. Thank you :)
To update you on the educational front, Priyanka secured distinction in her 2nd year of college and is currently in her 3rd year. She completed her COVID testing duty and has volunteered to join the COVID vaccine duty which will begin soon.
