I am Sudhakar, a Milaap Open fellow. I spoke to Anil, the baby’s father on 3rd October about the baby’s and the mother’s health.
The baby is still on oxygen support. The lungs are not operating as designed. Although all the tests are showing normal, he is still not able to breathe independently. The parents are awaiting the result of bronchoscopy currently. The baby is still in the Neonatal Care Unit. The doctor has said that it will take at least another two to three months before the baby gets discharged from the hospital.
Anil says “Thanks to all the contributors on Milaap for ensuring that our son gets the best treatment possible. Chaya and I are extremely worried about the baby’s health. Chaya has lost her appetite and keeps suffering from fever repeatedly. Chaya is very depressed and is on medications whenever she develops fever. We want to take the baby home soon.”
Let’s hope the baby’s health improves over the next weeks and he reunites with Chaya & Anil as soon as possible.
