Fruit saplings were planted with farmers of the Anantpur region. Very soon these farmers will start earning parallel income from these trees and these trees will also increase the green cover of the region by multifold.

Dear Supporters

Along with support from a corporate partners and several other individuals in the SayTrees network, the champion was able to raise only 30% of the target. Kapil Sharma, founder of SayTrees, says “Raising funds for the campaign was a challenge this year. However, as an organization we were happy to see that more farmers around the farms we had identified were directly reaching out to us to learn more about agroforestry to enhance their income. This motivates us to keep us going.”

The villages identified for planting trees are Adiri village in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh and Bagepalli village in Karnataka. The plantation of saplings started in the second week of October and is currently ongoing. A total of 7000 saplings have been planted till now. Durgesh Agrahari, Head of Partnerships and Projects was present for the plantation. The farmers identified have now understood the importance of agroforestry. The intended impact of the campaign will be realized two years from now.
