Dear Supporters,

Arifa underwent her bone marrow transplant on 23, December 2016. However, post-transplant, Arifa WBC (white blood cells) count began to rapidly rise to 3lakh counts. "She is still an active kid with no external symptoms other than fever but her conditions have become severe" says her mother Fathima.

After being under observation for a few weeks after the transplant, Arifa was transfused with blood last week. After which she was discharged from the hospital and brought home on 24, January 2017. As her conditions have become critical, Arifa’s mother Fathima is doing her best and trying to find all means to give her child the best treatment possible.

Thanks,
Team Milaap.

Hi all,

This is Dr. Kasi Vishwanathan. I am Arifa's doctor and I am posting this update on behalf of Arifa's mother to inform you all about her treatment. Arifa is admitted to the hopsital. 3 months ago, we were planning on her bone marrow transplant but she was not fit to undergo the same. We put her on chemotherapy but unfortunately, there is a recurrence of her condition. She is stable but is on medication support. We are hoping to do her transplant next month if she responds well. I will keep you informed on her treatment.

Thank you for the support.

Dear Supporter,

We just spoke to Arifa's mother. Arifa is at home and going to the hospital for the chemotherapy sessions. The date for the transplant has not been decided. The family is waiting for the doctor's confirmation on the date.

The chemotherapy is being supported by the hospital since the funds raised through the campaign will go for the transplant. We are yet to transfer the funds to the hospital and this will be done once we receive confirmation from the doctor.

Thank you.
