Fundraise for a Cause with Milaap : the Best Crowdfunding | Milaap
19th June 2019
Dear Supporters,

We'd like to thank you for the wonderful support that you have shown towards Donya. It means a lot to all of us. However, we have some news to share with you today.

Donya needed treatment for Thallasemia Major for survival and the campaign was started to fund the same. However, the donor who was found to be the perfect match refused to donate, due to personal reasons. The donor for Donya still has not been found.
If the family finds a donor in the near future, we will let you know about the same.

After discussing with the concerned doctor and his consent funds raised for Donya would be utilized to help another baby named Hony who has a deadly disease called Acute Lymphoid Leukaemia.

Here is the campaign link for the same - https://milaap.org/fundraisers/help-hony

Since the intended purpose, i.e, the treatment did not happen at the hospital as mentioned, we cannot definitively confirm when it would take place.

As per our Refund Policy under Terms & Conditions (https://milaap.org/about-us/terms-and-conditions), donors have the discretion on how their funds should be used which is as follows:

1. Funds raised for Donya to be redirected to Hony's campaign - https://milaap.org/fundraisers/help-hony

2. You can opt for a refund for the contribution made and we will be happy to help you with the same.

Please reply to this email before the 26th of June, 2019 stating your preference for 1 or 2. After which the funds will automatically be mapped towards Hony's campaign.

Our prayers and wishes are with Donya and her family. Following is the letter attached from the treating doctor Dr Gaurav Kharya from Apollo Indraprastha. You may get in touch with them if you require any further information.

We want to thank you all for your support and generosity.

Dear Supporters,

Thank you all for the immense love and support!

Donya is presently at home and doing well. We are still in search of a donor for the operation. She has completed all her cycles of chemotherapy but has side effects such as weakness, fever and vomitting. The doctors have told us not to worry about the same and she is on continuous medication and check-ups. Hopefully we must find a donor in a week's time.

Will keep you posted.

Regards,
Vikas (Father)

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for your love and support. This means a lot to us.

Donyan is currently doing okay. She is undergoing chemotherapy and the doctors have advised five cycles of chemotherapy. The unrelated donor who matched with her, from the US, backed out from the procedure. Also, it was proving to be a little expensive for us. Hence, we then started looking for someone from India.

Fortunately, we've been able to find a potential donor from India. The transplant is likely to be scheduled in the first week of September, if all goes well. We are all hopeful about her recovery and this procedure going well.

Please keep praying for her. We shall keep you posted. Thank you everyone once again! Also, we shall be stopping the campaign here now, as we have been able to arrange enough funds for her treatment.
