Fundraise for a Cause with Milaap : the Best Crowdfunding | Milaap
18th April 2018
Dear All,

Update: Shiv appeared in court on his date on April 9th. Lawyers were on strike that day so nothing much happened. Some amount from crowdfund of current need has been deposited in his account rest lies in the Milaap Fund. I have advised Shiv to move an application in court that he's ready to pay full pending amount in one go if the 6 months period for mutual consent divorce can be waived off granting him immediate divorce. This has happened already in some cases so I asked him to explore this with his lawyer and they shall be doing so.

Next date is 27th April. I shall keep you all informed. Thanks for supporting Shiv. He owes all of you immense gratitude

Thanks,
Deepika

Dear Donors,

20th March. Happening at Court for Shiv Kumar

Shiv and his so called legally wedded wife were both present in the court. The lady has changed her lawyer once again and the new lawyer said they need sometime to take back the executions filed for recovery of maintenance amount. Court has told the other party strictly that the money will be released only when they comply by the terms and conditions of final settlement and sign on first motion of mutual consent divorce. Cheques of 1.6Lac has been deposited right now but they will be released only once first motion of divorce is signed. Next date is 9th April. Shall keep everyone here updated. Please keep sharing the campaign with more people with Hashtag  #CrowdfundingAlimony

With help of all kind souls, we have been able to generate 3,27,000 so far and I am hopeful we will be able to achieve our set target.

I am happy to share that the crowdfund and shivs story has received a great media response too.

Please continue supporting Shiv. His full and final settlement will take 6 months to happen and he will be paying this money in installments. I shall remain in touch with all of you to keep you posted on the developments in the case with every date. I am humbled to see this response by everyone.

I would be glad if you can watch my documentary "Martyrs of Marriage" which is now available on NETFLIX. It exposes misuse of dowry laws in India and tells tales of many more injustices happening to men in the country. Link:  https://www.netflix.com/in/title/80239988

Thanks and Immense gratitude
