The fund withdrawal will cover the community centre rental payments for the next few months, infrastructure and maintenance (water dispenser and cleaning) as well as games for kids at the centre.

In July 2018, the Saidapet team opened the doors to its community center - Project Sudar. The center caters to both the primary and secondary children taught by Saidapet fellows and aims to bring opportunities to them towards their holistic development.
It has been a month since the Project Sudar kicked off. Here's what's been happening at our Saidapet community centre.
We have a full time volunteer and has been working with the kids since day 1, bringing her love for books and economics to the centre :)
The focus for the month was digital literacy and our kids spent their time at the centre using available devices to connect and search for information they needed in various contexts. They will continue to build this skill through all our sessions in some or the other way.
They also spent some time understanding internet safety and tried their hand at coding through 'graph paper programming' sessions.
The girls also worked on creating the Sudar center culture - coming up with norms, center chant and ideas to decorate the walls. We've also built a consistent routine of reading and meditation (during the opening and closing of the sessions).

Thank you for your support! Your contributions have helped us immensely in setting up a community center and library for our children. We are extremely excited and will share more pictures as the work progresses.
Furthermore, we will be equipping another of our primary classrooms with a LCD monitor in order to aid science and social lessons. This withdrawal is in relation to that.
