Hello everyone,

These are the first set of books, art supplies and other library related materials that I brought from Jaipur. Two out of four schools that I work with, do not have rooms for a library so we've decided to set up classroom libraries there. Classroom libraries include hanging library and pocket library.

 Hanging libraries are one where a line of threads/ropes are tied at a certain height in the classroom and books are pegged onto it using clips.

Pocket Library is the one where we make use of old clothes and make many big pockets in them so that books can be kept there and be hung at the back or front of the classroom.

 Therefore other than books I also got supplies needed for hanging and pocket libraries. The two schools which do have a library, we have decided to print rich the walls using various paintings and charts and the supplies for them has been bought as well.

As for the future plans, I am planning to get like floor roundtables and floor cushions so that the children can use the library as a learning space.


Charts like these have also been bought so that children can see and learn easily. It is also helpful for the teachers as they can use them as TLM's (teaching-learning material).

 One important thing about this campaign is that we focus on buying books only in Hindi as we work in Hindi medium Government Schools.

Hello everyone,

I am really sorry for not being able to update for a while. Was busy with school and planning out ideas and designs with the principal and teachers.

Since there are no outlets available in Sujangarh from where I can get useful and interesting books for the library. I had applied for a leave from my organisation last week to go to Jaipur and get the required resources. My leave got sanctioned yesterday and hence I am leaving for Jaipur tomorrow. I have contacted NBT (National book trust), Jaipur, in order to get the required books.

Here is to hoping to stock the library and make learning more fun and accessible for the children. Thank you all for being patient with my post and I will be sharing the future progress with everyone from time to time.

With minimal resources and books, I have managed to set up a library in one of the schools that I work in (state model school, Likhmansar). We still need a lot of books, new stacks, small tables etc to facilitate the functioning of the library. therefore we require your support to set up an ideal library which can be used by the students and the teachers alike to enhance and better the learning processes in schools.

I have decided to withdraw some amount from the fundraiser to buy books of all genre in Hindi, for students from 1st grade to the 6th grade as of now. I will be starting these in two schools and will let you know about the progress through this fundraiser page.
We still have a long way to go to set-up an ideal library but let us begin from here. Thank You for all the generous contributions till date and continue to support us in this campaign.
Lastly I would be very grateful if all of the contributors could send me their addresses. The children want to express their gratitude towards you in their own special way.
