Fundraise for a Cause with Milaap : the Best Crowdfunding | Milaap
5th August 2020
Dear Donors,

We hope that you and your loved ones are safe, healthy and well.

We’re writing to you with excellent news. We were successful in reaching our fundraising goal to provide relief in our community during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. This was done through donations made on our Milaap fundraising page as well as through donations made directly by individuals and organisations. To each one of you who donated and supported us in our time of need, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. The money we raised and the Students and their families we’ve helped wouldn’t have been possible without your generosity.

Through our collections, we have impacted 6500+ families by providing them with ration and grocery kits. Additionally, we’ve also been able to get internet recharges for our Students and will continue to do so.

Truly, we are humbled to have such an extensive network of friends and supporters who have rallied around us, ensuring that our Students and their families don’t go hungry and are able to keep learning. In the years to come, this will serve as a powerful reminder of what kindness can yield, even in the darkest of times.

To continue donating and supporting the work we do please reach out to us on donate@teachforindia.org

Thank you once again for your love and support. We are grateful.

June 15th, 10:00 AM - Update #10
Dear donors, we hope everyone is keeping well and staying safe. We wanted to convey our gratitude to you for enabling us to reach 75.1% of our goal. Do continue sharing this fundraising campaign with friends and families, so that, together we can ensure that all our children and their families are taken care of and that learning doesn’t stop.

We’re now entering our 11th week of relief efforts and a big update is that our support has taken a new direction which is towards internet recharges for our kids to facilitate online virtual learning. So far, we’ve managed to utilize 50,000/- from the Milaap Fund to fund data pack recharges for 245 kids across Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. The Program Team at Teach For India has been working to create blended learning plans to equip our Fellows with the right tools and techniques to adjust to online learning & access to internet + technology is a big part in making this project a success.

We’re happy to share that we’ve been able to provide food and financial support to over 6000 families, across the 7 TFI cities, disbursing a total of Rs. 51,00,000 over the last 11 weeks. Here are some more updates on that front:

  • Delhi - Our Fellows continue to work with the local stores within the community and have been able to provide relief to 24 families with a donation of Rs. 18,730.
  • Hyderabad - The team (Fellows and grocery partners) have provided rations to 6 families worth a donation of Rs. 5528 since the last update.
  • Mumbai - Our partner Voyage Education has worked with us to reach 90 families while a combination of financial support & local grocer support has allowed us to reach an additional 55 families for a total donation of 167,091.
  • Pune - 156 families have received support from local grocery stores while 182 families have received support through our Fellow collaborations for a total donation of 324,139.

All of this has been possible through the tireless efforts of our teams, our on-ground and implementation partners and volunteers.

We want to assure you that we are ensuring our people and partners are taking precaution and following the advice from medical experts and government officials as we go about providing the relief material.

Thank you,
