Dear supporters,

Hope you are all doing well.

Greetings from Great Bombay Circus

This is KM SANJEEV, the owner of your favorite Great Bombay Circus. I wish to share a small video update with you kind people, whoever have contributed to our campaign and supported has during the hardest times ever seen by us.

The group with its artists and staff are currently stationed at
Mannargudi, Tamil Nadu. There are a total of 85 people in our team. The funds so graciously donated by you are withdrawn to my bank account (KM SANJEEV). The funds that are yet to be withdrawn will be used for food, shelter and basic health hygiene expenses of the artists and the supporting staff. The money raised through this campaign has helped us sustain and maintain regular supply of basic provisions including food, shelter, and the basic salaries for the staff.

We were hopeful that the circus industry will soon get the opportunity to start conducting and performing in shows but because of the pandemic our hopes are still bleak. We hope for the best and pray that things get back to normal really soon. Thank you so much, all of you. Hadn't we received your help and love, we would not be able to sustain for so long, when the entire world had been grappling with dire circumstances.

Warmest regards,
KM SANJEEV

We are determined to support our circus artists and staff till the last mile but cannot do it without your support. The Great Bombay Circus has a 100 year old tradition of spreading smiles across India, we have done so in a self sustainable manner but in the last few years we have endured many challenges. You can read more about this here: https://www.andrewwhitehead.net/blog/4-chennai-the-once-great-bombay-circus

The heart-breaking part is that inspite of all these challenges we kept marching on & then the pandemic hit us. We do not expect any shows to open till September /October.This leaves us with zero income. Even when it will open we are completely aware that crowds will be reluctant to come in the usual numbers due to the fear of Corona Virus spreading. We expect a sales will drop by at least 80%. Our artists have given their heart, soul and their best efforts to keep this tradition and culture alive. We want to ensure that it never comes down to the fact that we may have to shut down the circus and need your support to protect their dreams.
