Yashica was discharged home after 3 weeks of a terrific battle against the lung infection. She was on maximal support in the PICU with all types of monitors & machines hooked up to her at one point. We thought she would need ECMO ( a machine which does the function of the lung & heart) but there was a scarcity of money. We continued all the supportive therapy believing god almighty will show us light. Our belief became true, she started showing signs of improvement & the MILAAP campaign also provided the much needed money. She was removed from the ventilator & shifted to the ward. Today she was discharged from the hospital. Her parents were happy & smiling. She was back to her normal ways & saying bye bye to the doctors & nurses. Thanks to all the supporters without whom this would not have been possible.

Dear supporters,

Yashica was admitted in Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital, PICU for pneumonia (lung infection) on 7th May 2017. She was commenced on mechanical ventilation for breathing difficulty. She had worsening problems for which she was put on higher ventilator support (high frequency oscillatory ventilation). She also had air collection around the lungs & heart. She gradually became better with the antibiotics & supportive care. She was removed from the ventilator on 15th May 2017. She is now much better & is taking oral diet. She is being shifted to ward & she will be discharged soon from the hospital.

Thank you all for your timely support. Here is a photo of Yashica with her parents

Dear supporters,

Yashica is slowly becoming better.  We are planning to remove her from the ventilator and hoping that the hospital expenses might come down if we are able to remove her soon. We will keep you posted about her condition.

Thank you so much for your contributions.
