Dear Friends,

We would like to inform to you besides some most vulnerable cases Sambhali Trust have technically stopped handing out ration.

We have noticed people started to return to work after the unlocking of Rajasthan in beginning of this month.

With your help we were able to share some resources eg. (oximeters -simple and high-tech, ppe kits, masks, cooked food, sanitizer, operation theater dresses, dustbins, ECG machines etc). with the District Administration, Municipal Board, Department of Medical Science of Jodhpur.

Through the Trust we were able to share very generous 1109 ration kits for 8 to 10 days for a family of 4-5 people. We were able to reach total number of 5850 registered beneficiaries in Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Barmer districts until today.

Without your continuous help we would not have been to help needy people fight hunger and combat COVID19 during the 1st and 2nd waves (above numbers for wave 2).

We want to thank you on behalf of Sambhali Trust for generously helping.

Khamaghani!

I hope you are doing well.

As you know, Sambhali Trust in a non-profit charitable organization based in Jodhpur recognized by the ECOSOC of the United Nations. The Trust was registered in 2007 to empower and strengthen the women and children of Rajasthani society. The main aim is the holistic development of marginalized grassroots women and children.

During the first lockdown in India and following-up from March to October 2020 Sambhali helped 566 families in 12 villages with food kits, groceries, health, and hygiene products every 10 days. In total 2251 ration kits were provided to 566 families from 11 villages mainly from around Setrawa in the Thar desert region, 100km west of Jodhpur. The lockdowns have started again for this year; the second wave has proven to be crueler. Once again we have had to make our work more impactful. We have done surveys in the areas where we have our empowerment centers and through social media and local media we have reached women and their families offering them psychological support and food supplies.
We appreciate the efforts of the Local Administration and have reached out to them to offer our support in the form of medical equipment and distributing ration kits to the needy. We have been contacted by Dechu, Setrawa and Sekhala villages Tehsil (100km west of Jodhpur) administration again this year to provide support in this tough phase. We are providing ration kits to the needy and we are also donating medical equipment (ECG machine, oximeters, thermometers, sanitizers, N95 face masks) to the government hospital as a support for providing better treatment.
In the last few days we have been assisting finding beds, providing rations, distributing facemasks in public, and strengthening the resources of the Local Administration by supplying necessary equipment and supplies. Thanks to the Government Hospital in Setrawa village for organizing a successful Covid tests camp.

Looking at the present circumstances and long-term effect of the pandemic, we have formed our city’s first Food Bank where people get free food rations with little to no bureaucratic formalities. Currently we have already distributed Food Kits to 375 families, and we continue to do this until the situation stabilizes in the city and the villages.
Meeting and working for people give us hope for a better and healthier future. My team and I are tirelessly working and supporting the local
community. I, Govind Singh Rathore, being the founder of Sambhali Trust, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support. I am sharing this with you as without your continuous help, nothing would be possible to help the people who now desperately need our help.

I feel happy to share this year's Progress Report with you.

I hope you enjoy it. Do comment, share and recommend.

Thanking You,
Govind Singh Rathore, Founder, Managing Trustee,

Dear people all around the world and friends of Sambhali Trust,

We hope all of you are fine and safe.

Welcome back to Sambhali's Milaap campaign connected to our fight against COVID-19! Thanks to you, we were able to help many vulnerable people throughout last year's long & strict lockdown periods by raising about $25,000. Unfortunately, the fight is not over. These days, India suffers from more than 350,000 positive COVID cases daily - the real number is expected to be even higher. Sambhali Trust tries to help as many people as possible again, and donates medical supplies, masks and whatever needed.

Jodhpur, Rajasthan:
Middle of April, we re-started our food distribution project in Jodhpur by purchasing and sharing 2,500 food boxes with the Municipal Board. Additionally, we are providing rations to Sambhali participants in need, especially to those going through the holy time of Ramadan at the moment. The contribution of food rations will be repeated every 7-10 days according to the need of these families. The mask distribution is working well since August 2020 and will be continued.
If you are interested in more details, please check out this video on Sambhali's Facebook page: Sambhali's fight against COVID-19

Those in vulnerable situations and in need of counseling can call the Nirbhaya HelpLine and will talk to a psychologist working with Sambhali Trust. Senior staff can also be contacted separately for telephone counseling, as well as our General Secretary, Mrs. Tanwar. We are also making sure that those contacting us are enrolled on the vaccine register.
In the Red Zones of the city, our Team goes from house to house to talk to women in poor financial and health conditions. They collect their names and addresses so that we are able to support them with food rations whenever possible.

The Trust is in touch with the Local Government of Jodhpur and offered its help to the District Administration, the Municipal Board and Medical Department of the city. We let them know that we are ready to help in all ways possible. At this point, Sambhali would like to provide each of them 5 Lakh worth of equipment and supplies as they require. The Municipal Board has let us know that they would like to buy some oxygen generators and we have immediately supplied 2,500 disposable plates which are used to get food to those in quarantine centers.

Donations in Jodhpur until now:
  • 2 digital ECG machines
  • 800 N95 masks
  • 200 bottles of sanitizer
  • 90 oximeters
  • 10 dustbins
  • 200 pieces of files
  • 10 stamp pads
  • 60 pens

Rural area:
To help more people in the rural area around Setrawa again, we have organized a Test Camp in the village. The staff of our Setrawa Empowerment Centre organize the project. The numbers there are higher these days than last year. Additionally, the 22 families we took care of last year for a longer period are provided with food rations again. They are the most vulnerable people of the 11 villages we have worked with during the first lockdown and mostly widows, old people without children and people with disabilities. Same as in Jodhpur, they will get new rations every 7-10 days according to their need.

Donations in Setrawa until now:
  • 1 digital ECG machine
  • 200 N95 masks
  • 10 oximeters
  • 1 fetoscope
  • 3 nebulizers

We are very grateful for your endless support! Please help us again to reach more people out there waiting for medical supplies, food and counseling.
We are all in this together!
