Here is an update about the case.
Overall we are quite happy and satisfied with how our Lawyer has tackled the case with utmost patience and passion to bring justice. Outcome is not in our hands, however, we are satisfied that we did our best by hiring a lawyer who is the best! We have seen him fighting, arguing and making people accountable for their actions. He has been our pillar of support even emotionally each time when any of us parents went to the court for the grueling cross examinations.
This was possible only because people like you and organization like MILAAP decided to support us to crowd-source the fee that we wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford.
We can't thank you and Milaap enough for the help you gave us right on time, standing by your words and actions.

Here is an update about the case.
- The accused is still in jail since last 1 year, 10 months. The bail application was filed for around 6 times in between, however it was never approved
- Kidzee has taken away it's franchisee from the school, however the school is now operating under a different name with not even 5% of the original student population going there. For almost an year, it was closed.
- Cross-examination of the parents and other staff members etc. for the 7 filed cases are in progress (almost 90% complete), and in 2019 we will be left with the last leg of the case
- After this case, Government of Karnataka has passed laws and stringent regulations for preschools as well (earlier this wasn't the case)
- POCSO awareness sessions are being conducted with more gravity and rigor for all schools and govt authorities like police, judges, lawyers, social services orgs in Karnataka after the surge in reported incidents.
- Parents are no more ashamed of this, more and more cases have been filed by them, and media has played a big role to de-stigmatize child abuse.

The parents have requested to release the amount as they get lawyer is seeking his first installment of around 3 lakhs. We will keep you posted once the funds reflect in Mr. BT Venkatesh's account, the lawyer on the case. The chargesheet has been filed and we are confident that this is a step closer in this fight for justice.
Also, the parents would like to keep the campaign live and extend by another month since this is not about just their child but for all the other children across India for which they have stood tall and fighting it out to get the perpetrators behind the bars and set an example such that no such thing takes place with little kids in play schools whether in Bangalore or all over India. Hence, we would appreciate if all of us could contribute with that thought and encourage & stand-by these Brave parents to fight this battle.

The appointment of an expert SPP has been approved by the govt. but parents will have to bear the cost. Let's get together and show our support... so that this case becomes an Alarm bell for Education system, related laws and most importantly - for school authorities to take "children security" seriously.
In this case (like many others), principal totally denied the complaint and post arrest of the accused- tried to influence parents to let him go! It was only when parents didn't agree that she had to file FIR next day to save herself. But even after doing that, she did not inform other parents of the school to check if other children have been going through the same, despite knowing about previous similar complaints to her from them (parents) since last few months.
We refuse to ignore this blunder! They could have prevented this crime...
THIS case has received a stay order against investigation.... it can't get more bizarre than this. So let's join hands and show this system that PEOPLE/PUBLIC n country is bigger. and let's raise our voice till we are heard. .
