All of a sudden, on 20th October, at 4:09pm, Chief got a seizure. He got a second one at 10:31pm. Then another on 21st Oct at 5:45am and one more at 9:30am after which we rushed him to Dr. Chausalkars clinic. In the doctor's clinic, he got another seizure at 5:15pm.

He was stabilised immediately with medications at the vet. His phenobarbital, ammonia and CBC tests were done which are all normal.
Then a series of seizures followed on 22nd oct- 8:36am, 9:10 am, 9:26 am, 10:10 am. Dr. Natasha visited chief and give him medications to help control his seizures, despite giving him all the necessary medications he went to a stage of status epilepticus, where he kept on getting non-stop seizures. We took him to happy Tails Chembur immediately where he was treated with multiple medications, No anti-seizure medication worked on him, not even general anesthesia! He kept on getting tremors and grand mal's.
He had over 100 seizures Since 9:30am on 22nd October until today, for almost 24 hrs, he didn't even blink his eyes. His eyes were wide open, We had to put eye drops to keep his eyes wet since they were drying.Vets had to change his anesthetic but even then he kept on getting seizures and tremors.

24th morning around 5am he slipped into a stage of comatose. He didn't even know what he had gone through in those two days. We had to revive him and get him back to normalcy. Had his owners not just let him go without sharing about his past, both Chief and us wouldn't have suffered so much to identify his issues. Our innocent boy was suffering a lot. We fought every moment to save him.

On 26th morning at 9:15 am chief breathed his last.. we lost him
He fought his little heart out for hours. To everyone who donated for chief, thank you, we were able to provide him the best throughout because of all your support.

R.I.P our handsome boy..

UPDATE on our boy chief:

Chief's MRI was done on 23rd september. Good news is there is No abnormality noted in his brain and cervical spine.

*Here's his vets note* : Epilepsy diagnosis is a diagnosis by exclusion. Since we have ruled out any structural and parenchymal changes in the brain. We will have to rule out any underlying infection or inflammation before calling it an idiopathic/inherited epilepsy. A CSF tap / Spinal tap would be recommended to rule out any underlying infections/inflammation in the Brain. Since Chief has been fairly stable, there is no rush to perform the CSF tap immediately. You can continue and complete the course of medication prescribed to you and we could then discuss about the CSF tap then.

*Following the same* : His prescribed medication course completed on 30th of september. Since the fourth day of completing medications, our boy has relatively become dull and is avoiding food since. He's tired easily. From relishing healthy 5-6 meals a day the count has dropped to only 2 meals. He's been having fever since day before yesterday morning and has been eating very little. Since today morning he didn't have water & food at all. He's been given saline and blood sample has been drawn. We are awaiting reports post which CSF will be decided.

In such times, we are holding on every fibre of determination, love, hope and care to do our very best to give him a shot at a healthy normal and loving life. It’s a choice we make every single day.

*I want to express my heartfelt gratitude To everyone who donated for Chief and shared his post. A BIG THANK YOU! It wouldn't have been possible to provide him the best without you all.*
We will update about his blood reports in the evening.
