Anoj leads the team in India, running day-to-day operations of the company with a focus on community engagement and corporate partnerships.
A Starting Bloc Fellow for 2010, Anoj co-founded Milaap after working with SKS Microfinance in energy and water services. He has also worked at ReEx Capital Asia, a cleantech investment boutique in Singapore and served as a fellow at D.light Design, developing consumer financing & mapping models for rural electrification.
Anoj graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelors in Engineering and Minors in Economics and Technology Management. He is a founder member of the Microfinance Society in Singapore.
When Anoj witnessed first-hand the impact of a $10 solar lantern, sold on credit, to the extremely poor in tribal Orissa, it sparked in him the idea for Milaap - to connect with ease the struggling 700 million people of India with prosperous Indians and the Diaspora, thus, creating opportunities that change the playing field for the poor at an everyday level.
Arti is part of the team ensuring "Customer Happiness" and "Community Engagement" at Milaap. A writer at heart, she loves to meet and interact with new people, looking out for that untold, unheard story each person carries. Very few of us live life, the others just manage to survive: and thus Arti is here at Milaap, hoping that reaching out to people and ensuring their stories are told helps her to live beyond just surviving.

Athira takes care of Campaigns and Community Engagement for us. Though, Milaap happened to her on a mundane day, she was soon engulfed by Milaap’s awesomeness. If there is something she enjoys the most, it is talking. She loves being on stage, be it for anchoring, dancing or acting. She loves animation movies, chocolates and supernatural mysteries.

At Milaap, Chandrika takes care of front end development. Here is how she came to do so: After completing her M.Tech., Chandrika began her career as a lecturer. Soon she realised that she liked bringing designers' idea(s) into reality more than teaching. So, she left behind Amrita Vishwavidyapeetham, Mysore for HutGeeks Software Solutions. In her quest for interesting things to do, she found Milaap.
Apart from technology, she likes to travel with her huge group of friends and loves cooking: paneer butter masala being the star dish!
Deepanwita works as a Fellow at Milaap. Coming from a journalistic background, she always wanted to report on core issues, doing groundwork with the rural populace of India; but she ended up being on the desk, doing editing for the last two years. However, being a sub-editor helped her delve deeper into various issues faced by the rural population and pushed her to take on the Milaap fellowship. She expects to come out of her comfort zone and face a challenging situation on ground. She enjoys writing on varied and different topics.
Dhimant Parekh works as a Product Consultant with Milaap. He is also the Founder & Social Media Head of The Better India, a positive news site. In the past, Dhimant has driven product management across web and mobile applications such as ibibo, ngPay and Hoopos.com.
He has an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB) and likes running (marathons of all kinds), audio books, the internet and the Theatre.
Dhruva works as a Fellow at Milaap. A journalist by education and trade, he was looking for a way to understand socio-economic issues in rural India. Working at Milaap married his passion for writing with understanding more about the societal problems that face millions everyday in India. Finding a way for the media to give a positive voice to people in low-income areas, while shining an influential spotlight on them is his lifelong passion.
When he isn’t writing, Dhruva can be found tweeting about injustices in the world, doing yoga or sitting down with a cup of coffee and a book.
Harshvardhan Parihar is a Software Engineer at Milaap who began his career as a Rails Developer. He graduated in 2011 with B.Tech Degree in Computer Science from SKIT, Jaipur. Harsh is a Ruby programmer, passionate and enthusiastic about ROR web framework.
He is working with Milaap since July 2013. Prior to joining Milaap, he was working with Roam Space Travels Pvt Ltd. He enjoys working in start-ups. He loves travelling and watching movies.
Jayashree is an Electrical Engineer by training. She currently handles Community Engagement at Milaap which she enjoys, ( in spite of having her day start at 7 AM). She spent 7 years growing up in Bangalore and is glad to have moved back!
She is on a mission to explore weekend getaways from the city. When not lazing around, she can be found reading or journaling
Jugal works as a Business Development Manager at Milaap. He graduated from IMT Ghaziabad in 2014 as an MBA in Finance, post which he worked with multiple start-ups. He has a passion for start-ups and firmly believes in their ability to bring about a positive difference in the lives of people. When not at work,Jugal can either be found reading books or chilling with friends.
Kanagaraj is a front-end developer at Milaap. He is an MCA graduate from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Prior to joining Milaap, he worked with Red Hat. He is a firm believer in open source and contributes to open source projects.
Apart from technology, he is interested in organic farming and agriculture techniques. While not on the keyboard, you will see him on the fields with a hoe in hand
Kinnari is the Investments and Field partnerships Manager and heads the Lend team at Milaap. From selecting a field partner to disbursing funds on ground, she manages it all. She completed her graduate studies in Economics from LSR College, New Delhi. After working with DBS Bank, New Delhi for a year, she decided to work with an organisation that inspired her more. According to her, Milaap does just that! Her zest for life drives her to explore different opportunities and makes her the enthu cutlet a lot of us draw inspiration from. With her around, there is never a dull moment!
In addition to this, she is an accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer. Her other interests include reading from eclectic sources, watching documentaries and movies of every genre. Oh, and she makes sure she doesn't miss her Sunday morning runs in Cubbon park!
Lakshmi is a native of Ernakulam, Kochi. She is a Partner Tools Associate at Milaap. She writes stories for the lend platform of Milaap. She also takes care of volunteer management. She has completed her B.A. in English Literature and Communication Studies.
She is a huge movie buff and during her free time she would binge watch the iconic sitcom FRIENDS, with a hot cup of coffee. She also loves listening to evergreen Malayalam hit songs.
Madhavi is the Senior Editor at Milaap. She has previously worked in Times of India, Hyderabad and IT for Change, Bangalore. She has done an MA in Linguistics from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad.
Margaret is a Post-graduate from Karnataka University, Dharwad and a graduate from the Fellowship program from the Deshpande Foundation. She works on field operations, with a special focus on sandbox operations in Hubli-Dharwad region. She believes Milaap is a great opportunity for her to work with a team of young people bringing a change to the communities across rural India.

Mathew is a corporate lawyer with many years of experience in working with start-ups across the globe. He graduated from NALSAR University, completed a post graduate degree from the University of Oxford, holds a honorary teaching position with the Singapore Institute of Legal Education and heads Kochhar & Co.'s Singapore Office.
He chanced upon Milaap in his free time, lent some, fell in love with the idea and decided that he would like to work with us as part of his pro bono initiative. Apart from wearing a suit and tie and looking old, Mathew dives, hikes and tries to surf.
Mayukh leads the business strategy and is the architect of the National Skill Loan Portfolio Fund - from concept to execution. Prior to co-founding Milaap, he has been a financial risk consultant in Dubai, where he worked with top banks and asset management firms. An empiricist to the core, Mayukh has spent the last four years in building technology enabled financing models - working in consumer lending for solar-lanterns for D.light, then in developing an commodity financing company as the Head of Collateral Finance with one of India's leading agri-logistics providers.
Mayukh is an electrical engineer from IIT Madras and a PGDM from IIM Lucknow. In his free time, if not researching on how technology is shaping up the future of financial services, Mayukh can be seen on a street tour with his camera, or locked up in a room trying to solve problems in plane geometry.
Mouli has joined as a fellow after completing her Masters in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. She graduated from St. Xaviers College, Kolkata and was an intern with Cry and Centre for Study of Developing Societies.
Outside of work, she loves to travel and explore. She wants to write and understand people in their native land, which is where she draws her inspiration for Milaap's fellowship. Her sociological knowledge instills in her the wish to act for the people. Milaap gave her the opportunity to live with the people, for the people.
Noushadya works for Marketing & Brand Partnerships with Milaap. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and an MBA in Communication Management from Symbiosis International University. Through her internships and projects with Eureka Child Foundation and Child Rights and You (CRY), she got her feet wet in the social space.
In her free time, she watches movies and is always on the search of food recipes to experiment with her culinary skills. She wishes to continue learning Bharathanatyam and start a food blog soon.
Paul is one of our Rails developer and is a Computer Science Engineering graduate hailing from Thrissur, Kerala. He took the start-up plunge right after he completed his graduation and is a firm believer that the start-ups provide a great learning opportunity. Previously he has worked with Codelearn.org.
He likes reading books on history, travel and current affairs magazines. He loves trekking as well.
Pinakee recently joined us as a Design Intern and is currently in her final year at MIT Institute of Design, studying Graphic Design. She is a passionate design learner and is fuelled by curiosity to learn as much about this field as possible. She loves creating functional, clean and simple graphic solutions and print and UI/UX design intrigue her.Pinakee loves being surrounded by creative individuals and strives to derive perspective and inspiration out of them.She is a cleanliness freak and is in love with (borderline obsessed) with arranging and organising tables.
In her free time, you can find her watching endless marathons of Doctor Who or maniacally reading Calvin and Hobbes. On a rainy day, (one of the reasons she loves Bangalore-frequent rains) she likes to curl up in a corner with a mystery novel and a hot cup of coffee.

Prithu is a Campaign Manager at Milaap. A Mechanical Engineer from BIT, Durg.,Chhattisgarh, he has worked with community and operations teams at 91springboard and Pointshelf. He was looking for a role which would make a great impact on the lives of people which is when Milaap happened.
When not at work, you will find him sharpening his singing skills, discussing movies and cricket or playing computer games. He also loves to travel and frequently goes for trekking camps.
Rajesh Revankar is our Junior Accountant . He is from Gangavathi, Koppal. He has completed his B.com from Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary. He has been a part of the Deshpande Koutilya Fellowship Program in Hubli, through which he joined Milaap. He is keen for the opportunity to utilize and expand his skill set as well as broaden his personal horizons. His hobbies are watching cricket, realistic drawing and listening to music.
Ritika works as a Fellow at Milaap. She is a computer science graduate from Delhi University. After working for years together in corporate structure she took up the fellowship to know the world beyond the confines of four by six cubicles and coffee breaks.
In her spare time, she likes to read out stories to children and fascinate over libraries.
Ruchir is our film-maker from Nagpur. An Engineer who went on to find his passion later, Ruchir has done his Masters in Mass Communication from Symbiosis. He has worked as an assistant director in feature films and various Ad films and has made independent documentaries. His motivation to work with Milaap is to use his talent for a cause that has an impact on communities in rural India. He wants to capture the emotions of the borrowers, show the conditions they live in and tell their stories and helping the audience connect to them.
He loves photography and believes that power of visual media can impact the lives of the people for the better. While he's not spending time behind the camera, he spends it in front of the big screen, watching movies of various genres, in various languages.
Sagar is an analyst with Milaap's Skill Development program. He interacts with the student-beneficiaries and assists them through the life-cycle of the loan. He holds a B.Com. degree from Osmania University.
In his spare time, he loves playing basket ball and listening to music.
Sahana Sehgal is a Fellow at Milaap, placed in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. She is a Mass Media Graduate from Wilson College, Mumbai University. She was a Teach For India fellow and taught in a government school in Pune. It made her aware of the inequity that was prevailing in our society.
After the fellowship, she joined a start up, iTeach, to coach and mentor low income private school teachers. Her interest in entrepreneurship and the impact it can have in society stemmed from her experience with a start up. Her inclination towards rural development and livelihoods combined with her interest in entrepreneurship have brought her to the Milaap Fellowship.
One day, she wants to learn to fly an aeroplane, be a published author and try her hand at a political office.
Sathish, a native of Bangalore, is a B.Com graduate from Vasavi Jnana Peeta Degree College. With three years of experience under his belt, he works as a Junior Accountant at Milaap. When he is not busy poring over numbers, he likes to travel, listen to music or both!
Sayanti takes care of Media Relations and Communications in Milaap. She holds a Bachelors degree in English Literature from St. Xavier's Kolkata and a Diploma specialization on Public Relations & Communications from Xaviers Institute of Communications, Mumbai. Having worked for large brands in the last 4 years, she decided to switch to explore something different.

Shireesh is Mechanical Engineer who began his career in the software industry right after college. Apart from a passion for coding, he brings a lot of experience to the table. One of Milaap's earliest lenders as well, he has followed our progress from the very beginning. So when the opportunity arose to combine his passion for software development to achieve positive social impact, in a hard-core start-up environment like Milaap, he jumped at the chance.
On the personal front, he is a movie buff, loves Hindustani Classical Music & Ghazals, and is interested in photography.
Shreyasi joined Milaap as Partner Tools Manager. She manages the loan inventory and is in charge of the Fellowship and Volunteer programmes. She studied B.A Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi, right after which she joined DBS Bank. It didn't take long for her to realise that doing sales was not for her. She followed her heart and Milaap happened.
She is a trained classical singer who likes to watch horror movies, travel, wipe off kebab platters and flop around on bean bags
Shruti is a Fellow at Milaap. She is a mass media graduate from Mumbai University and a journalist writing about culture, music and travel. Her motivation behind joining Milaap is to gather necessary field experience required to steer journalism towards assertive reportage and positive reinforcement.
When she's not trying to satiate her itchy feet by boarding buses to unknown destinations with a sleeping bag in tow, she tries to keep up with and explore cultural and political developments across the globe, write poetry, perform music and spoken word.
Smitha is our QA Engineer, who holds a master's degree in Computer Applications from Manasagangotri, Mysore. Smitha has previously worked as a Test Engineer in a Healthcare company. She is passionate about path-breaking technologies in the fields of testing and coding. Smitha occasionally participates in online hackathons. She is excited about working at Milaap and being a part of the change. A travel buff, she loves music, sports and treks, particularly the Dudhsagar trek. Whenever she finds some time, her flute is her friend as is her stamp collection
Sudhakar is presently a Milaap Open Fellow in Bengaluru. Having been a lender on Milaap for the last 4 years, the fellowship programme landed at his doorstep at a perfect time when he was looking to switch careers.
He graduated from NIT Rourkela with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Straight after college, he joined ITC, where he assumed various responsibilities at their manufacturing locations at Bengaluru, Munger and Kolkata for 5 years. Then, he got an admit to ISB where he spent a year majoring in Operations and Finance at their beautiful Mohali campus. He moved on to Housing.com, where he was a part of the Operations team at Mumbai for 2 years
Suhas is our Digital Marketing Genius. He falls for anything that has to do with computers or technology, his favorite pastime being customizing android phones. He takes care of all our online marketing needs and likes trying out new tools and techniques.
He came to Bangalore with big dreams to pursue Media, Psychology and Literature at Christ University and has never left ever since (both the town and the dream!) An MBA in Advertising and Brand Communication from Symbiosis, Suhas is our go-to guy for online outreach and advertising efforts. When not glued to his computer, he can be found rock-climbing and biking.
Our Tech Lead, Sumisha is an MCA graduate who hails from Palakkad, Kerala. She brings seven years of experience to the table, and has worked at Sourcebits and Bitla Software earlier.
She loves to a code 'a lot', and enjoys watching movies and listening to music. She's been in Bangalore for seven years, and loves it for the cool weather and green cover - both of which she believes are fast fading.
Sushmita is the friendly face at Milaap who manages People and Culture. She thoroughly enjoys one of her key responsibilities - ensuring that the Milaap team gets some fresh air every once in a while. A native of Guwahati, Assam, she has completed her MBA from Sheffield Hallam University, UK and has worked for Capita Customer Management Pvt. Ltd. in the UK for 2 years before joining Milaap. Sushmita enjoys travel, reading and listening to music. But her one true love is movies - given a chance, she would like to take up permanent residence at a movie theatre. What the team learnt about her, at a party, is that she is a great singer who has learnt music for over five years, and wait for it....even performed on stage in shows!
A Bangalorean at heart, no matter how far she travels, the city keeps pulling her back home. Tannaz started her career as a credit associate in Chicago. While underwriting credit during the global credit crisis was fun, she soon realized the opportunities awaiting her back east. Working in finance with the growth markets of Asia at Goldman Sachs, she developed a creative and systematic approach to problem solving that has become a part of her personal and professional life!
Following a passion for wine and a yearning for the outdoors, Tannaz spent 6 months on vineyards across France and India, learning the art of winemaking (& tasting)! Milaap's own in-house sommelier, she has returned again to the city she calls home after having completed her MBA at INSEEC, Paris. Fuelled by the high-energy culture of Bangalore's start-up scene, she joins us as the Head of Marketing and Brand Partnerships, connecting brands and individuals alike through Milaap.
Usha Madhan, takes care of all things finance-related at Milaap. She holds a post-graduate degree in Commerce from St. Joseph's Commerce College, Bangalore. She ensures that the loan disbursements to field partners happen on time, and takes care of repayments to lenders and from our field partners.
Usha is by far the most sought-after person at the end of month, when it's time for salaries and reimbursements! She is also our co-founder Mayukh's right-hand person.
Uthra is our Fellow at Trichy. She’s an avid reader who also loves to write, travel, and photograph. Her love for reading and writing started right when she was in school and she wrote for magazines, tabloids, and newsletters during her school and college days.
An Engineer-turned-Journalist, she pursued her Postgraduate studies in Broadcast Journalism from Asian College of Journalism. She bagged a job as a Feature writer with The Hindu newspaper, where she worked for two years, writing feature stories, articles and news items. Her interest in the field of social science led her to join ‘Make A Difference,’ where she educated underprivileged children in shelter homes during the weekends. Finding her work at The Hindu a bit stagnant, she quit her job to explore new opportunities.
Vaibhavi works as a Product Manager at Milaap. She graduated from IIT-Delhi in 2013 as an Electrical Engineer, post which she worked as a Field Engineer with Schlumberbger.
She has a passion for social development and firmly believes in the importance of data-driven approaches, evaluation and strategy to bring about social change. With an enthusiasm to pursue a career in the social impact space she decided to quit her job and joined Milaap Social Ventures.
Vrushali worked as a Fellow with Milaap’s field partner in West Bengal in 2015. Currently she works as a Campaign Manager at Milaap. Travel enthusiast, love for all things digital and still finding herself, she says. She loves meeting new people, exploring new cities, quizzing in the gaps and is quite random in nature. Getting invited for a meal from a borrower on field is how she measures her real connect with them.
She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from St. Josephs College of Commerce, Bangalore. She worked as a trade analyst in Northern Trust for a year and half. Sensing her learning curve was stagnating, she quit her job to join Milaap.In constant search for old new things, you will currently find her loafing around streets of Kolkata feeding her gastronomic fetishes.
