Raosanara in her shop

Raosanara is running her grocery shop from 4-5 years. She used the loan to buy the necessary grocery items. She used to do the vegetable business earlier, now she does both of the business. They sell the vegetable in the market. She has two daughters and one son, out of which one daughter is married. Her son and daughter staying with her also help her with the business. Her son does masonry work. Her husband runs an engine van (cycle van with engine) to transport goods from one place to another. He is been doing it from 15 years.

Raosanara earns around Rs 6000 per month from both her business. There were some times when she was not able to buy stock due to lack of money and used to buy on credit. The profit they earned from the business, they used to develop their house and improve their standard of living. She wants to improve the shop's condition by renovating it and wants to keep more type of goods to cover more customers. She gets up at 4:30 am in the morning and starts her work. She does household work and she handles the morning customers who come for tea and snacks. She also goes to the market to sell vegetables and her daughter helps her in managing the shop. On asking her if she has labours, she said jokingly that she only is labour.

She says that the loan has helped them to grow and due to such loans there is less stealing in the society. As earlier when people didn't get loans, they relied also on stealing. It was the first time I was hearing such an impact of the loan.
