Low cost loans allow happiness in household of Mamataj

We met Mamataj at her home. She had taken two loans for buffalo husbandry and has used all the loans in purchasing three buffalos. At present, she has total 3 buffalos. Recently, she has sold one buffalo for Rs. 8,000 and is now left with 3 buffaloes. She feels that the low-cost loan has allowed her to live with happiness and she says she has no issues with repayment. In fact, the installments are easy to repay and at the same time, the loan helped her scale up the business which otherwise would not have been possible. She expects higher loan amount and wants to re-start grocery shop for her husband. At present, her husband Baren is working in a company and earns an income of Rs. 7,000 a month. The couple has two children and both are in school studying in 5th and 7th respectively. Mamataj is the leader of her SHG.
