Chand, a resident of Sardda village and a member of Utsav SHG gleams with hope as she welcomes us into her home, she has three children, one of whom can be seen playing at distance, she informs, he was ill and didn't go to school. The notorious child shies away as he sees me and I make faces at him. Chand starts by narrating how the loan was a great support to her and her family financially. Chand, informs me that she has been able to save for the marriage of her 2 daughters and plans to save more till they are studying. She wishes the loan amount would be increased so that she is able to buy necessary fertilizers and pesticides for crops such as gram and wheat. Chand wishes to continue her regular loans and thereby gradually raise her standard of living.
