“It all began when I saw a heart-wrenching news story. On a TV channel, a child, tears streaming down his face, claimed he hadn't eaten a single bite of food for the past four days. That moment served as a turning point, igniting a fire within my heart, a fire that compelled me to dedicate my life to helping those in need.”- Rahul Singh, founder, Homeless Care Foundation.Rahul had an enviable government job, one he had secured at a very young age. But at 26, he made a momentous decision – to leave his stable job behind and focus on serving the abandoned and helpless. His mission was clear: to provide healthy and nutritious meals to those who had no one else to turn to.
‘Forgotten in their twilight years, they are left to fend for themselves’
Homeless Care Foundation was born from this vision, and its sole aim was to feed and care for helpless elderly individuals who had no one else to care for them. Many of these elders were either paralyzed, disabled or over the age of 75, unable to cook food due to illness. They were the forgotten ones, left to fend for themselves in the twilight of their lives.The foundation's journey began with providing meals to a few homeless individuals, but its impact grew exponentially. They've delivered more than 33,000 free meals to date and have been providing regular tiffin seva (meal service) to 63 elders twice a day. Some of these elders couldn't even get out of bed on their own, making Homeless Care Foundation their only source of support.
A complete lifeline for the elderly downtrodden
Rahul’s mission extends beyond food. Along with his team and a dedicated set of volunteers, he is able to provide clothing, basic medicines, walkers, wheelchairs, and other necessities to helpless elderly individuals, offering them a lifeline they never thought they'd have.
But their care doesn't stop there. The foundation has extended their compassionate touch to various other causes. This dedicated group, led by Rahul, provides meals to homeless individuals, poor patients, and their caregivers outside hospitals. They offer medical treatments to both homeless people and animals, acknowledging the importance of every life, regardless of its form. They distribute ration kits to poor families, ensuring that no one sleeps hungry at night. Rahul and team also rescues abandoned individuals, providing them with a safe haven in old age homes or shelter homes. They even contribute to education by providing educational kits to underprivileged children. Their commitment to the community is further highlighted through their Cow Seva initiative, ensuring the well-being of these gentle creatures. Additionally, they provide hygiene and dignity kits to homeless women, recognizing the unique challenges they face.

The future holds a grand vision for the social service crusader that is Rahul Singh. He aspires to provide free tiffin seva to 400-500 helpless elderly individuals, expanding his foundation’s reach to those who need it most. It's a journey marked by compassion, selflessness, and the unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those often forgotten by society."I believe that with your support, we will reach 500 helpless parents in the near future. However, the need is far greater than the resources available. We receive countless requests from nearby elders, desperate for a warm meal and a kind word. But limited resources prevent us from extending our reach further. We need funds to cover expenses like purchasing ingredients, acquiring vehicles for food transportation, and ensuring that our dedicated employees receive timely salaries."- Rahul Singh
