Urgent: His father fears his head will grow so big one day that it will burst and kill him, if not treated immediately something bad will happen
“Every time I look at him, I feel guilt rip through my insides. I feel like I have failed as a father because I am helpless. If I hold him too close to express my love, he screams out in pain. I fear his head will grow so big one day that it will burst and kill him. There is no way for us to console him also. And the worst part - I am not able to leave him here in this condition and go to work; my mental health is badly affected.”- Tahir, father

Tahir and Gulista’s six-month-old baby boy had a peaceful entry into the world. He did not suffer from weight-related complications nor did he get jaundice as many other newborns do. He was able to go home from the hospital in no time, leading his parents to believe that they are going to have a beautiful future ahead with their fourth and youngest baby. But fate had other plans for this poor family.

When he turned three months old, everything changed for the worse
The little baby had met all of his developmental milestones and was growing up happily as expected. However, this changed when his parents noticed that his head was starting to grow bigger with every passing day. He had also become extremely irritable and would cry a lot, especially at night. Many trips to the clinic near their village told them that they had to take him to a better hospital to get to the bottom of the health issue. And that’s when they found that their child was suffering from hydrocephalus, a neurological disorder caused by an abnormal buildup of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain.
“He neither eats nor sleeps well. He cannot lie down in any comfortable position. I have to carry him, my palm holding his head in a certain position, all day. I am not able to care for my other three children or do the household chores. I feel like my child and I have been cursed.” - Gulista, mother, tearfully.

Doctors have informed Tahir that his baby boy’s condition needs to be treated urgently, or it may become life-threatening soon. They have indicated that pressure could build up within the brain, and cause irreversible brain damage. Tahir is aware of these complications, but poverty is holding him back. He doesn't have the resources to afford the surgery and medication that his baby would require to recover.

Surgery will save the baby, but his poor father has no way to afford it
“I have not been able to work for the past few months. My brother is making sure that my family is not starving to death at this point. We are so poor that my wife and four children and I live in a single room. I had not even heard of the disease that my child has before this. Please help me save him… I will not forgive myself if something bad happens to him.”- Tahir.
You can make sure that an innocent life is not taken away by this condition.
