This Unemployed Father Has Only 15 Days To Save His Daughter From Cancer

You know how difficult it is to watch someone you love in pain. If you’re a parent, you know how difficult it is to watch your child suffer through even a mild fever, a small fall or a broken arm. Sambhaji has been watching his daughter, Sneha suffer for 5 long years. And it never gets easier.

“My daughter has cancer. I can’t imagine the pain she’s going through, but as a father, watching her almost disappear before my eyes has been heartbreaking. She can’t eat, she doesn’t talk…now she has just 15 days to get the bone marrow transplant that can save her. I have 15 days to save my Sneha’s life.” – Sambhaji, father

All this teenager wants is a normal life

Sneha was 9 when she first diagnosed with cancer. Ever since then, she has been in and out of the hospital, her home, and most of all, her school.

“When she was recovering the first time, she immediately wanted to go back to school. But she could hardly go for a few days. We had to take her for blood check-ups every other week. But in 2017, she started going to school again. Class 8. But just a year later, her cancer came back. And now we’re here…

Sneha has cancer that affects the infection-fighting cells of the immune system.
Sneha still wants to go back to school. Even if it means being a few classes behind all her friends. All this teenager wants is a normal life. A life away from all this pain.

On some days he was a waiter, but he's a terrified father every day

Sambhaji and Preeti have been through this before – they didn’t have the money to afford Sneha’s treatment. But they borrowed from everyone they knew. They are now 11 lakhs in debt. They have no way to afford another 12 lakhs for her bone marrow transplant.

“I haven’t had a stable job in these 5 years. I had to keep running around for the tests, hospital admissions, medicines…so I did whatever job came my way. On some days I was a waiter at a hotel, on the others I was a labourer somewhere. But on most days I was jobless. I have no savings left, no way to pay back everyone and no way to save my child from this disease!”

Sneha has completed 3 rounds of chemotherapy. Her transplant will happen in Mumbai, but Sambhaji doesn’t have money to even afford a rented room there. The transplant is beyond his means. Sneha knows she has cancer, when her friends call her to check on her, she tells them she’ll see them soon. But even she shows that if her father can’t afford the transplant, she won’t survive this disease this time.

Sneha is only 14. She needs your help to fight cancer.
