They Don't Hesitate To Rape Even 12 Year Old, Help Dr. Swati Provide A Safe Place To These Children

Challenges The Women And Their Children Faces In Red Light Areas

1. Some women are made to do sex work against their will. They are hurt or made to do things they don't want to do

2. People treat sex workers and their kids horribly. They are made to feel alone and not part of the group.

3. Sex workers and their kids can get sick quickly. They might get infections or problems because they can't see a doctor easily.

4. Many sex workers don't have much money. They struggle to buy food, clothes, or go to the doctor.

5. Kids of sex workers might not go to school. Some schools won't let them in, or other kids might be mean to them.

6. Kids of sex workers are often treated badly. They could get hurt or be forced to do things they don't want to do.

Dr. Swati Singh, the founder of the ‘Shree Sai Seva Sanstha’, has been working tirelessly to uplift the lives of sex workers and their children in the red light area since 2016.

A glimmer of hope amid suffering

“Rani, a single mother and HIV positive, was able to leave behind sex work and take up making incense sticks and diyas. She said she wants to completely leave the commercial sex business and take up a job with which she was able to support her parents and her child who are in the village.” - Dr. Swati Singh

Note - Rani Khan is a brave survivor, she wanted to come out and tell her story to the world and help Dr. Swati in her efforts.

How Swati is helping these women and their children

1. Swati helps women and children in red light areas by providing skill-based training programs.

2. Swati also opens bank accounts for the women, ensuring financial independence and security.

3. She offers medical aid, food assistance, and legal support to women who have been exploited or abused.

Currently, Swati is facing financial challenges, including rent, deposit, food, and educational expenses. These financial constraints jeopardize the foundation's vision to provide a full time - safe home for these vulnerable children.

She wants to establish a safe daycare and night care center for the children of sex workers, focusing on their health, education, and bright future.

“The shelters will require cooks, helpers, teachers, supervisors and other personnel. This will cost a lot of money, apart from upkeep costs. We are looking at ration costs also as we want to provide wholesome meals four times a day - breakfast, lunch, evening snack and dinner.  Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children and contribute to positive social change."- Dr Swati.
