One day, an 85-year-old man came to my clinic, crying. He told me, “I have three sons, but none of them feed us or send money. My wife is paralyzed, and we live in a small, dirty room.” His words broke my heart. That day, I decided to help elderly parents who are left alone by their children.
Through Shravan Tiffin Seva, I now provide meals to 325 senior citizens every day. Many of them are too weak to cook or buy food. These meals are not just food; they are hope. I also give them medicines, clothes, and care, just like a son would.
I hear so many sad stories. Once, a mother told me her son sold their house and left her on the road. He hasn’t come back in seven years. Some elderly people I meet haven’t eaten for days. These parents spent their lives caring for their children, but now they are abandoned.
To make these meals, I’ve hired widows to roll warm rotis. This helps them earn money while the elderly get fresh, soft food. But running this service is expensive. I need money every day for groceries, tiffin boxes, and the space where we cook the meals.
I meet new elderly people who need help every day, but I can’t always afford to give them meals. My dream is to build a safe place for these parents, where they can live their last years with love, care, and dignity.
With your support, we can give these elderly parents the happiness they deserve. Together, we can show them that they are not forgotten.
