If This Baby Doesn't Get Life-Saving Treatment Now, He May Not Get Another Chance

“Sometimes when he cries, I carry him around the hospital and he quiets down, looking at all the new rooms and people. One day we stopped at this window and we saw some children playing cricket outside. He was fascinated but I started crying, because… my son may never get to grow up and play cricket like them. He may not even survive for another month…”
– Anita, mother of Samarth, breaking down

Tragedy at such a young age

Samarth was born just one year ago. He used to smile and laugh all the time, and he particularly enjoyed playing peek-a-boo with his father, getting startled each time his father said ‘Boo!’ but loving it anyway. Even on the day when his condition first started showing itself, he had been playing with his mother’s hair. Normally he could play for a while, but that day he got unnaturally tired. Soon he developed a fever, and it got so bad he had to be rushed to the hospital.

When the doctors made the diagnosis, nobody wanted to believe it

Given his age, there were many possible reasons for his sudden fever, but one by one the doctors ruled them out. Soon, after a blood test, they were able to tell the parents what their son was suffering from: Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis, an extremely rare blood disorder that could cause severe damage to nearly every major internal organ and system.

Treatment and recovery is possible, but it’s beyond these parents’ means

“The doctor says fever and weakness was just the beginning, and that Samarth’s brain, kidneys, heart and lungs are all at risk or already getting damaged. I want to help my boy, but the treatment costs 3 lakhs! I’m just a small private employee. I barely make enough to support my family for a month. I cannot come up with that much money in such a short time! I just... I don't know what to do...”
– Sachin

The longer his treatment is delayed, the more Samarth is at risk. Soon, a Bone Marrow Transplant surgery may be the only option to save his life, which can cost upwards of 25 lakhs.

Please donate and help Samarth get better now, when he has the best chance to do so.
