Poor Plumber Cannot Afford The Cancer Treatment Of His Daughter, You Can Help

“I will never forget the day the doctor told me that Mansi’s life is in danger. I felt something inside me break, and there was a heaviness in my chest. It was fear. The fear of losing my little girl. My children are my world and I can’t imagine a life without either of them in it. I swore to myself the day each of them were born, that I would protect them with all my power. But right now, my youngest daughter is fighting a deadly battle with cancer, and I’m failing at saving her…” -  Bablu, father

She had painful boils across her skin and a persisting fever

It all started a little over a month ago, when 3-year-old Mansi Mathur, suddenly ran a high fever. Her mother noticed some painful bumps scattered around her waist area. They looked like heat boils that would burst and disappear, only to return. The fever would fluctuate and the boils persisted for days.

“I knew it was no normal fever, because Mansi was turning pale and weaker with each passing day. After consulting the doctor, we took her to a bigger hospital. There we were told that her condition was serious, and she had to undergo a blood transfusion to stabilize her condition. They ran more tests there and that’s how we found out what the cause of her fever was. I couldn’t believe that my toddler had cancer. I didn’t know small children could also suffer from such a dangerous disease…” - Mamtha, mother

She needs prolonged treatment to recover

Mansi was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoid Leukemia (ALL), a type of blood cancer that commonly affects small children. It affects the B cells in a child’s immune system, making them prone to infections. ALL starts in the bone marrow and grows fast, impeding the production of new blood cells.

ALL is curable, and Mansi needs to undergo intensive chemotherapy for a period of 6 months, followed by supportive treatment for the next 2 years to treat the disease. But the cost of her treatment amounts to 15 lakhs, a sum that is out of her parents’ reach.

Only a plumber, he cannot afford his daughter’s treatment

This past month has been no less than hell for Bablu and Mamtha. Their child has been undergoing treatment and transfusions so often, and the medical bills are piling up. As a plumber, he only earns when there is work and recently, it has been scarce. Bablu has spent about 5 lakhs to get his daughter treated, but he’s exhausted all his resources now.

“I have begged and borrowed from my relatives and even from some of my customers, but it wasn’t enough. My mother too has been sick for the past two years, and all my earnings have gone towards her treatment. I need to put my children through school as well. How will I save Mansi with no money? She knows she’s sick and it kills me when she cries ‘Papa please save me! I’m going to die.’ I don’t know what to do… except ask for your help.” - Bablu
