“She came running to me, excited to tell me about her day. She started talking and I was smiling at her jibber-jabber. Suddenly I was taken aback to see her face, her mouth was shifting towards the left and she didn’t know what was happening. But we never imagined that this would be the beginning of a deadly disease. My child is fighting cancer and I am failing to save her.”

Diagnosis Of Cancer Left This Family Devastated
13-year-old Neeraja was diagnosed with T Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia, an uncommon aggressive blood cancer. The sudden diagnosis of cancer, left the poor family devastated. They ran from one hospital to the other, in search of a treatment that can save Neeraja’s life.“The first hospital we went to didn’t even tell us it was cancer and we thought it was just a temporary neuro problem. But when Neeraja wasn’t getting better, we went to a bigger hospital and the news of her cancer just shook us to our core. We went to multiple hospitals only to realise that we will never be able to afford our child’s treatment cost.”- Yadaya

“Neeraja knows that she has cancer, she heard us talk. Yesterday when we were heading home, she knew it was because we had no money and said, “I am sorry I am troubling you so much”. It just broke my heart. She is only a child and she shouldn’t be worrying about life and death. What has this disease done to my child?” - Laxmi, mother

Only you can help
Neeraja has undergone chemotherapy for 3 months to kill the aggressive cancer cells. She needs further treatment for a period of one year which will cost these parents 30 lakh rupees, an amount they will never be able to arrange. Yadaya has left no stone unturned to get Neeraja treated so far but now he has no means left to continue.“I have sold our ancestral land, took loans and I have unpaid bills pilling up every day now. I am just a daily wage labourer, I will never be able to afford such a big amount. I desperately need help, please save my daughter from this ill fate. You are my only hope.” -Yadaya
