Their Baby Is On Life-Support After Having A Stroke From Blood Clots In His Brain

"I named him Jannat because when he smiled at me for the first time, it felt like heaven. I wanted to give him every ounce of happiness, but little did I know that in just 2 months, he will be writhing in pain and fighting for his life. I can hear his borrowed breaths on this ventilator but my heart longs to hear his words now. Amidst all these machines beeping, I pray my child responds to the pleas of his Ammi to open his eyes."- Asma, mother

They found out about his Pneumonia when he choked on his mother's milk

Baby Jannat is currently on ventilator support, fighting inflammation in his organs from Post-COVID infection. When his motions stopped, his parents thought his diarrhoea was from just a stomach infection that would go away with medicines.

Once while Asma was feeding him, his breathing stopped and he started choking. He was immediately rushed to the PICU where they found out he has severe Pneumonia. As days progressed, blood started clotting in his heart and brain to the extent that he had a haemorrhage.

Just when they thought he is recovering, he was put on life-support again

"After keeping him on a ventilator for 2 weeks, seeing his progress the doctors decided to shift him to a normal bed. It felt like Allah answered our prayers to save our only child. But within 24 hours, his health deteriorated and they had to put him on life-support again. Every day I gather my courage to stand next to my child but merely looking at him for a minute breaks me down. His palpitations amidst all these cables at such a fragile age feels like cries of help. But his Abbu is failing to protect him now."- Asadul, father

His father pleads for help so that his son can fight for his life

Asadul and Asma feel fate has not been kind to them because of the sufferings being bestowed upon their first child. From what Asadul earns working as a mason, it is next to impossible for them to arrange 10 lakhs for Jannat's treatment. They have sold everything they had to keep Jannat in the PICU for the last 2 weeks but with the bills mounting up in lakhs, they have nobody left to seek help from.

"Every second, Jannat is trying to fight to return to his Ammi and Abbu. At this point if I give up my fight because of my inability to arrange funds, I'll never be able to forgive myself. Please help me, because if I don't get money immediately my son will lose his fight too." - Asadul, father

2-month old Jannat had braved COVID but it's after effects have taken a toll on his condition. His parents want nothing else but for their baby to survive now. If they can't afford his ventilatory support, then Jannat is at a risk of damage in his  brain cells that can be fatal for him. They long to see his smile and hear him call them Ammi and Abbu. But this won't be possible without your support as you are their only hope now.

Please help Jannat's parents to continue his PICU care by contributing here.
