Father With TB Watches As Son Battles Coma After Sudden Brain Hemorrhage Right Before His Interview

My name is Minakshi, and I am Hemant’s younger sister. The morning of September 12 began with joy and anticipation our family gathered for a small puja, praying for his success in a long-awaited interview the next day. After months of searching, my brother had finally found an opportunity that could change his life and ease our family’s struggles. I still remember the hope in my parents’ eyes as he stepped out, as if a new chapter had begun for all of us. But by nightfall, that hope had turned into despair. Instead of prepping for the interview, Hemant was fighting for his life in a hospital bed, unresponsive and silent.

Hemant is only 35 years old

For the last eight months, he had been unemployed after losing his job as a sales executive in a mattress company. Those months were hard on us: my brother was restless, constantly searching for opportunities, but he never lost his determination. He had even been shortlisted for an interview at a new company, and we believed this was the turning point. That morning, we all believed his struggles were about to end. We prayed together, smiling and dreaming of a better tomorrow.

But by nightfall, our world collapsed

At around 9:30 p.m. on September 12, Hemant was sitting with our father after dinner when he suddenly complained of itching in his mouth and nose. His voice began to falter, and he could barely form words. Before we could understand what was happening, he collapsed right in front of our father. Panic set in, and neighbours rushed to help. With no ambulance available, they carried him into a local car and sped to the emergency department.

He had nearly died

There, after urgent scans, doctors confirmed he had suffered a brain hemorrhage due to severe hypertension. Since then, he has not regained consciousness. 10 days have passed, and he still lies in a coma, his body unresponsive, breathing only with the help of machines. Without urgent help, recovery may take months or years, with the possibility of paralysis or permanent mental impairment.

Our family has been shattered

My father, Dharam Singh, is already frail after suffering from tuberculosis last year, which left him unable to work. My mother’s health is weak as well. My younger brother has just passed Class 12, and I have only recently started working. Hemant was the one who carried our family’s burdens. From household expenses to our futures, everything rested on his shoulders. He even took loans in his own name to help others in need, proving again and again how selfless he was. Now those debts weigh heavily on us, while we also struggle to keep him alive.

We've already done more than we thought we could

So far, we have already spent around six lakhs on his treatment, all borrowed on credit cards and loans from friends. The doctors say his treatment may cost more than 20 lakhs, an amount completely beyond our reach. Every day in the ICU adds to the bills, and we do not know how much longer we can hold on. Yet, as his sister, I cannot accept losing him. I believe that as long as he is breathing, there is still hope.

I am begging for your help now...

My brother is fighting for his life, and my family is drowning in debt and fear. Please, help us shoulder this unbearable burden. With your support, we can give Hemant a chance to survive and give our family the strength to carry on.
