At just 48, he has been the strength of his home—a devoted husband, a loving father, the backbone of his family. But today, he is battling end-stage liver failure, clinging to life with only his faith in Waheguru. Months ago, after immense sacrifice, his wife gave a part of her own liver to save him. By Waheguru’s kirpa, the surgery was successful, and for a short while, their family lived with hope again.
But Waheguru tested them once more. His transplanted liver began to fail, and doctors said only another urgent transplant could save him.
“Nanak dukhiya sab sansaar, so sukhia jin Naam adhaar.” (O Nanak, the whole world is in pain, but blessed are those who take support of the Divine Name.)
Holding on to this truth, the family continues to pray, believing that Waheguru will show them a way.
A Son’s Seva: Living Guru Nanak Ji’s Teachings
At this critical moment, his 21-year-old son—stepped forward. He said, “Nothing matters more than my father’s life.”
Without hesitation, he offered a part of his liver to save his father. He put aside his own dreams of study and career to live the teaching of seva that Guru Nanak Ji blessed the world with—serving others before oneself.
They draw strength from the son’s sacrifice, which reminds them of Guru Nanak Ji’s eternal words:
“Naam Japo, Kirat Karo, Vand Chhako.” (Remember God’s Name, work honestly, and share what you have.)
This family has always lived by these values. Now, they are left with folded hands, seeking the sangat’s support.
Faith in Waheguru, Strength from Sangat
Waheguru teaches us that no seva is greater than saving a life. Every drop of daan (donation), every prayer you make for this father, will be written in Waheguru’s hukum as an act of compassion.
The family has exhausted all their resources. They believe only in Waheguru and in the kindness of people who walk His path.
