It all started with jaundice, which we initially thought was a minor illness. But after multiple tests and consultations, we received devastating news: it was liver failure.
40-year-old Gurmeet was diagnosed with Jaundice two months ago. What initially seemed to be a typical case of jaundice has now progressed to complete liver failure. He is currently hospitalized in Noida, undergoing treatment. Gurmeet used to run his own business in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, selling ice cream materials. However, he had to shut it down 4-5 months ago due to his illness.
My elder son and I used to run a clothing business, but we had to close it. Now, we have no source of income.
"I'm managing everything alone—handling hospital bills and taking care of the family. My elder one tries to help me, but it's still incredibly difficult. We have already spent ₹7 lakhs from our savings and loans, and now we have no income at all. The hardest thing we had to do is cancel his sister's wedding.
"My daughter was so excited about her wedding, and seeing her happy brought me so much joy. But in the past few months, everything has changed. Every rupee we had has gone toward my son's treatment. Now, I don’t even know if we will ever be able to afford her wedding. As parents, we want to see our children settled and happy, but right now, we are struggling just to save our son’s life.
