My Hero Beat Cancer, but Now Only 10% of His Liver Is Functioning – We Have Just 14 Days to Save Him

My father is in the ICU, on a ventilator. His liver is failing. His kidneys have stopped functioning. And I’m watching the strongest man I know slowly slip away — because we’ve run out of money to keep him alive. I’m just 22. I can’t lose my father like this. I never thought I’d have to become the saviour of my own father. If we lose him just because we couldn’t arrange money on time, I will never be able to forgive myself.
In 2022, my father was diagnosed with oral cancer. Those two years were the hardest of our lives —hospital visits every other day, painful treatments, endless prayers. But he never gave up. Somehow, he made it through. He beat cancer. We thought the worst was behind us. But two months ago, he started having a mild stomach pain. Nothing alarming. But soon, his skin began to turn yellow. Then came blood in his stool. We rushed him to the hospital, and everything changed. The doctors told us his liver was barely working — only 10%  functional. They said it was liver cirrhosis and that he would need a transplant, urgently. Before we could even process that, his kidneys started failing, too. Everything collapsed so fast. We didn’t see it coming.

He’s now on dialysis and a ventilator
“My husband is my only hope. Today, even his breathing is being monitored by machines. Every day I sit by his side, but he’s slipping away. We thought the worst was behind us after cancer, but life has given us a new battle — one we can't fight alone anymore.” - Mother of Arin

The doctors have told us that my father needs to stay in the ICU for at least 10–15 more days so they can keep him stable before doing the liver transplant. They say he has a chance… but only if we can keep him alive till then. Every single day in the ICU feels like a battle — not just for him, but for us too. Watching him like that, connected to so many machines, is heartbreaking. And the cost is crushing us. They’ve told us we need to arrange ₹32 lakhs for the transplant.

We’ve already spent everything we had
We live in Mathura, but my father is admitted to a hospital in Noida. My mother and I have been living here, in the hospital, for days now. Back home, my little sister—she’s just 12—is all alone. She’s never stayed away from us before. But what choice do we have? I was the one earning and studying at the same time. I used to manage whatever I could—to run the house, to pay for my sister’s education. Now, I can’t even do that. There’s no one left to earn. Doctors have made it clear—if we don’t arrange the money within two weeks, we’ll lose him. I’m ready to donate my liver to save my father. But how can we when we don’t have money?

Please… don’t let my father die because we ran out of money
We just need one more chance to save him. But we’re helpless. And you are our only hope now. Even the smallest act of kindness can be of a lot of help. Please donate, share, and pray. You might be the reason he survives.
