“When I think of the horrible things that happen to girl children in this country, I am shocked. I can’t even imagine putting my child in a position like that. For me, my baby is a living goddess, my Devi. The day she was born, I felt like my whole world had come alive. I still remember holding her tiny hands and promising I would protect her always. Since then, every breath I take has been for her. Today, she is in a critical condition, and I am ready to do anything to save her, but funds are out of my reach.” — Kuldip, father

Kuldip and Chandrika married in 2022, and their home filled with joy when their daughter was born soon after. For a year, they lived in the warmth of her laughter, dreaming of her future. But six months ago, their happiness began to shatter. The child developed fever, vomiting, and swelling, followed by a bloated stomach that refused to heal. Hospital visits brought no relief. Test after test left them broken, until doctors finally told them the truth: her liver was failing, and only a transplant could save her.

‘Her painful cries have wiped away my happiness...I cannot bear to watch her slip away’
At just one year and eight months, the little girl suffers endlessly. Her body is swollen, her stomach distended, her growth stunted. Nights are filled with her painful cries, and days with her silence. She cannot play like other children, she cannot sleep peacefully, and she is losing strength with each passing week.
“She is not even two years old, and she is going through so much. I sit beside her helpless, knowing she is slipping away before my eyes. She should be running and laughing in my arms, but instead she struggles to get through each day. What did my wife and I do to deserve this? I have stopped being myself ever since my daughter's hardship started.” — Kuldip

‘I am ready to give her my liver, but I cannot afford the transplant will save her life'
Kuldip works as a pharmacist, earning only ₹7,000–₹8,000 a month. It is enough to keep food on the table in their small rented house, but nowhere near enough to fight such a cruel disease. Chandrika, a homemaker, is still pursuing her BA degree with dreams of becoming a teacher one day, but those dreams are now on hold as she spends every waking moment caring for her sick daughter. The family has already spent lakhs by selling belongings, borrowing from relatives, and draining their savings. But the transplant costs a lot of money and it is beyond their reach.
“I am ready to give her a part of my liver. That is the only gift I can give her as her father. But without help, I cannot get her the chance to live. Every time I hold her, she clings to me with all her strength, as if begging me not to let go. Every time she cries, I break inside as a father. I want to see her grow, to see her smile, to see her live the childhood she deserves. She is my everything. I cannot imagine a single moment of my life without her. Please, I beg you, help me save her.” — Kuldip
