"In Every Dua, In Every Namaz, I Only Pray for One Thing, My Daughter’s Life"

“When she first started bleeding from her mouth... I held her, trembling, unsure if she’d make it to the next day. No mother should ever have to see her child like that. And now this is our daily reality. She is becoming weaker with each passing day and the bleeding is getting worse. But how can poor people like us save her?”—Bushra, mother

Bushra and Fazru’s seven-year-old daughter was once full of joy. She loved going to school, playing with friends, and often spoke of becoming a doctor one day.But everything changed when she was diagnosed last year with Aplastic Anaemia, a rare and life-threatening condition where the body stops producing enough blood cells. Doctors have said she needs an urgent bone marrow transplant. But the treatment costs far more than this family can afford.

‘She thinks she is a burden to us’

Now, this bright child can’t go to school. She is too weak to even get out of bed. Her body is covered in blue patches. She cannot be around other children due to the high risk of infection. Even the smallest fever or injury could be fatal.

“She keeps crying and asks why this is happening to her. She thinks she is a burden to us. She says, ‘Because of me, you are drowning in debt.’ It breaks my heart to hear her say that.—Bushra, tearfully

‘We are helpless…please help us save our child’

Her father, Fazru, works from dawn to dusk as a vegetable vendor, earning just ₹300 to ₹400 a day. Most of it goes into buying vegetables and paying for basic food. Bushra has already sold every piece of jewellery she owned to fund her child’s treatment until now. The family has nothing left to sell. Even their small home isn’t worth enough...and now they are struggling to keep her alive.

“I go door to door, not to sell vegetables anymore, but to ask for help. People know our daughter is very very ill, but they look away. Maybe because we are poor. Maybe because they’ve stopped hoping too. We are not asking for much. Just one chance. Just enough to save her. Please… please help us.— Fazru, father
