“My daughter is everything to me… my Goddess, my mother, and my entire world. Today, I can’t bear to think that this little life of mine is battling cancer. She is just 2! Is it even the age to be in the hospital taking countless medicines, injections, and painful chemotherapy?" - Riyasudeen, Father
Baby Hazitha has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a type of blood cancer. Her parents got to know about her cancer a month ago after she fell ill with severe vomiting.
Baby Hazitha cries in pain and irritation all the time. Her father tries to cheer her up each time, but always breaks down in the process.
"All I can do is cry with her and even that bothers her. She can’t see me cry. She understands my pain and it worries her.” - Riyasudeen, Father
We need to save our girl's life. It’s our priority.
“My heart is torn between my two babies. I hardly even see my newborn except when feeding him. My mother is taking complete care of him. We need to save our girl first. It’s our only priority right now. We cannot let anything happen to her... We are doing everything we can but it’s not enough. We have sold all jewels, taken multiple loans, borrowed money… We have no other option left now other than asking for help.” – Shahansha, Mother
The treatment has started with the first cycle of chemotherapy. The parents had to pay a bill of 4.5 Lakhs, which has left them penniless. Now they are left with nothing to save their girl. They are not even able to take care of themselves.
“My wife's mangalsutra is the only piece of jewellery left. I think we will have to sell that too to afford food and other basics. I don’t even have my job anymore. I had to take a leave for 6 months as I had to travel from Trichy and be with my daughter for her treatment here in Bangalore. The treatment cost is 12 Lakh Rupees. I can’t even think of arranging such a huge amount.” – Riyasudeen, Father
