Imagine your own parents thrown out on the street. No food. No shelter. No one cares.
This is the reality for 60 elderly people living at Asha Kiran Home in Odisha. Their own children abandoned them. Police found them on the roads and brought them here.

Now they have a home. They eat together. They laugh together. They're family. But the man who saved them all – Hochiminh Shastri – is running out of money to keep them safe.
The Day He Chose Love Over Money
1993. Hochiminh's brother walked away and left their mother alone. She had nowhere to go. Hochiminh wasn't rich. But he brought his mother home anyway.
Then he thought: "My mother has me. But what about old people who have nobody?"

That day, he made a life changing decision. He quit his engineering job. He took his small savings and he started Asha Kiran Home.
32 Years Of Saving Forgotten LivesFor 32 years, Hochiminh has done something incredible:
He takes in old people nobody wants. He feeds them. He gives them medicine. He treats them like family.

Police call him when they find abandoned elders on the streets. Children drop off their parents and never come back. Some families lie and say their parent is already dead just to avoid taking them home.
Today, 60 elderly people depend on him completely. They wake up knowing someone cares. They eat warm meals together. They have beds to sleep in. They're not alone anymore.
Why This Month Is Critical
Here's the problem: Medicine costs keep going up. Food costs keep rising. More abandoned elders need help every week.
Hochiminh needs funds to keep Asha Kiran running:
- Food for 60 people and more every single day
- Medicine for elderly health problems
- Rent for the home
- Expanding space for more rescued elders
Right now, he's struggling to pay for basic needs. Without support, he can't keep feeding 60 people who have nowhere else to go.What Your Donation Accomplishes
Every contribution helps maintain this home where 60 people have found belonging. Your support allows Hochiminh to focus on care instead of worrying about finances.

This isn't about pity – it's about respect. It's about recognizing that these elders deserve comfort, community, and dignity in their final years.
Be Part of Something Beautiful
For three decades, Hochiminh has proven that love matters more than money. He started with 200 rupees and unwavering faith.
