Panvel and nearby Panvel area is developing very fast. Panvel is the gateway to the MMR – Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It connects Mumbai and Pune. Proposed International Airport, proximity to JNPT, the Freight Corridor, the Industrial Corridor, Rail connectivity makes Panvel and surrounding area full of potential. There are ample employment and self-employment opportunities in this area. However, there is shortage of skilled manpower. People are after traditional education and know less about vocational and skill based education. Even Schools and Junior Colleges of Vocational Education are only two in Panvel. Most of the parents and students prefer conventional ways of education.

While continuing school and college education, students must develop some skills that will certainly help them to live life successfully. The general scene in the society is, parents are after their wards to take school and college education to be successful in life. It takes time to know the harsh reality that conventional education is less useful for employment or self-employment. Then young men become frustrated and repent for the current educational system. Therefore, YMT has decided to create mass awareness about vocational and skill based education and thereafter provide training to rural boys, girls and women from Self Help Group (SHG) in Information Technology, Communication Skills in English, Soft Skills, Banking Financial Services and Insurance, Skills in Retailing and Marketing, Employability Skills and Entrepreneurship.

To begin with, we have planned to train 100 young men and women who will be given training of IT Literacy, Basic English Course and Finance & Business Management. It will be 12 months training. First 6 months, we will focus on IT Literacy and Basic English Course and for remaining 6 months there will be training of Finance & Business Management.
