    Baby Yaseen

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

“When my son was born, the doctor told us that he had a heart condition. We were there holding our child for the first time, and even those tiny moments of joy got wiped away by fear. For 11 months now, we have lived every moment in anxiety, terrified of losing him.”

Yaseen is just 11 months old, and he has trouble breathing most of the time. When he should be full of energy, this baby boy cannot play or explore as he turns blue and even faints from time to time.

They could not even celebrate the birth of their baby

Mohammed Younus and Shabana Begum were excited to welcome their child to the world. They never expected to hear that he was sick. Just as they held him in their arms, they received the most heartbreaking news.

“Our son was a little blue. He was born with a hole in his heart. To make matters worse, he caught pneumonia. We were so broken!”

There are no medicines that can keep Yaseen’s heart beating

Younus works as an Arabic tutor for Rs. 8000/month. He could not afford a surgery at the time, so the doctors suggested medical management. Yaseen needed tests every month to check his heart.

“When he was 5 months old, the doctor said that surgery was the only treatment option left. As he kept growing, his heart would suffer more. We were struggling to save every rupee, and could not afford the cost.”

Yaseen will survive only if he has a surgery

Younus moved Yaseen to different hospitals hoping to get a better quote. Fortunately, the cost was lower at Apollo, and the doctor suggested crowdfunding as an option to help him with finance. However, a lot of time was lost trying to find a cheaper option.

“Now, we have just weeks left. Yaseen is always crying in pain. He turns blue and faints. We must watch him 24x7. If he does not have a surgery to close that hole, we will lose him. Allah has brought us to the right place, we are praying for a miracle.”

How can you help

The surgery, estimated to cost a little over Rs. 3 lakhs, is still unaffordable for Younus, and he needs your help to save Yaseen.

This is a race against time, and your contribution will give this baby boy a new painless healthy life.
