I am a final year student at TATA Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Tuljapur, Maharashtra (India), currently pursuing my Bachelors in Social Sciences (BASS). Born on August 20th, 1996, I am originally a resident of Chandigarh (India). I intend to pursue an internship with World Youth Alliance, an International NGO based in USA.
The World Youth Alliance works to understand and speak about the idea of the human person. It works with young people around the world to build a culture that supports and nurtures the dignity of each human person. Their work can be divided into three program areas: Advocacy, Education and Culture. It promotes the dignity of the person by building a global coalition of young people able to articulate, defend and live the dignity of the person in their lives and influence the communities and world in which they live. It looks at world with a vision in which the dignity of the person is the foundation for policy and program implementation; in which it understands that progress entails a commitment to the dignity of each human person and the adoption of person-centered solutions.
I seek to gain understanding of various cultures which will enable me to work more efficiently in my future projects and career, and also give me an upper-hand over the others. I plan to provide my complete sincerity, dedication and hard work towards all the projects that will come my way during the exchange and showcase my leadership, management, and productive skills in order to produce work that is worthwhile and be an asset to the organization. My passion lies in Dancing, Acting and Interacting with people. I will like to contribute through all my skills towards my education to make a memory out of it and to love, what I do. This DREAM Internship can help me gain all that I desire.
When I was young I used to think of myself as the biggest sensation in the world, but that world was confined to my restroom. As soon as I stepped outside, all I could hear was my peers laughing at me for being fat. My mother made me join every kind of sport, but I hooked up with dancing (and Acting) in the end. “A fat boy, dancing”, seemed like the eighth wonder of the world to most people but gradually, it became an identity for me. Since then, my confidence is not confined to the four walls. Also, in the process I have learned to build relations and understand people. I have been able to build a really strong network of friends for myself and have also tried acting like a support, a guide, an inspiration to all.
I like to be in the spotlight and to perform as best as I could, but more importantly I enjoy the conversations I have, the people I meet, the stories I hear while doing such activities. Lately, I have realized that my passion is not confined only to dance or to act but my larger mission is to make people happy. I do that by listening to them, building relationships and understanding their perspective. While organizing National Level events in my school and College as the Head Organizer I have had situations where people have given up, where the situations went out of hand and where people refused to continue. I have learned to deal with all these situations and emerged as a successful team leader with a calm head and a composed mind. I believe that this internship will provide me with exposure to be able to polish all my skills and contribute to the society. I want to give something back to it.
I like to take the lead, understand the strength of each individual, work on the weaknesses and strive ahead. I am an optimistic individual who loves to take initiatives. Cultural Activities have been a great part of my personality and identity.
This internship will help me to enrich and deepen my understanding about different cultures, and about Humans in general. It will be an experience that will make my understanding grow. This program will also be a great opportunity to share my own knowledge and experiences with others and also to gain a lot of experience as well. Also, for a holistic growth in my personality, this program will benefit me a lot. I think I will be a good fit for the program.
Please help me pursue my Dream Internship !
