Library and Science equipment for Grade 6 kids of Bhosari village.

I am Vibhor Pandey, a graduate from BITS Pilani in Mechanical Engineering.
Vision - Teach For India's 'Vision 2022' is that every Grade 5 kid can read at a Grade Level 3.5 i.e. the kid can read a text meant for Grade 3.
Crisis - I teach a class of 96 5th graders at Shivaji Maharaj English Medium School, Bhosari. 42 are can read up to a Grade 3 text, 29 can read up to a Grade 2 text and 13 can read only upto Grade 1 text. That means only 12 kids in a class of 96 can read a Grade 3.5 and above text. This is what we call a 'Gap to Grade'. That's the crisis. The Need of The Hour - With the summer break approaching and 'Summer Slide' becoming my real fear (where kids drop at least one Grade Level due to the one month break) I need to gear up for a tough Year 2 of my Fellowship. What I need :
1. A Library - This is the most urgent requirement for my kids. With an illustrated Grade Level 1 story book costing around Rs. 300, it's difficult to establish a library for my class, let alone the three grades that Teach For India has in my school. This is mainly where I need your help. I need to buy a cupboard and around 200 - 400 books ranging in all grade levels upto Grade Level 6.
2. A Projector - Almost all private Secondary schools have a projector installed in every class . Next year, I will be teaching Science and English. I intend to use to show them the real beauty of Science with Bill Nye videos, Planet Earth and Cosmos.

I believe all children deserve an excellent education. Their poverty will not dictate their destiny. There's no minimum amount you can help me with. Even a small amount will help me buy a book for my kids who desparately need to develop a love for reading.

Hey guys!Thank you SO much's because of all of you that I've successfully bought a BenQ projector. I've also placed an order for a wooden cupboard for the books and the projector with the money left over! The next step:
1. Buy slates for every single child for Reading fluency games, and start organising a community centre where the kids can come and not only study on their own in groups but also work on life/soft skills like facilitating a parent student meeting and building student leadership through activities and project based learning!
Looking forward to this!!
