URVEE is celebrating its Silver Jubilee, 25 years of woman empowerment making handmade Paper Crafts from recycled Paper and saying "No" to Plastic!
We are extremely proud and happy to announce that our unit Urvee has completed 25 years in November, 2018 in this mission of women empowerment and protecting the environment at the same time.  We started our Social entrepreneurial journey in 1993 with a mission to empower needy women and girls with free skill development training in screen printing, paper crafts, book binding, tailoring, embroidery, terracotta jewelry making, paper quilling, block printing, watercolor painting, quilt making and even home-composting! Urvee continues to work with it's mission with full zeal and vigor even today.
It's been 25 year's long and amazing  journey of two friends,  Rekha Mavinkurve and Nandini Karanje, who wanted to give back to the Society they lived in and make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Mainly women who worked as maids in their neighborhood having very little or no educational assets. The goal was to teach a craft that was not only unique but also eco-friendly in nature and earn something from making them in their free hours. Hand holding them and assistance is being provided to them at every stage from sourcing materials, creating products, finding customers, marketing, keeping accounts, and maintaining stocks.
Today Urvee Charitable Trust is a registered trust and proudly stands as a manufacturing unit of handmade paper products, Kora and cloth bags, and jute products.
To celebrate this milestone and tell our amazing story we are bringing out a Souvenir and doing a fund raiser to meet the printing expenses, appreciation awards to our staff and venue expenses.
This Souvenir will be a great source of inspiration and motivation to other like minded individuals and talented women. For this event We plan on having at least 150 /200  women who have taken training from us and several other aspiring women entrepreneurs. The Souvenir will showcase the numerous interesting articles featured in newspaper and magazines about the work at Urvee, pictures, workshops conducted, beneficiaries, programs/events conducted, awards received and articles written by well wishers and supporters throughout this journey.
To help bring out this interesting and informative souvenir which will be released on 24th of March at the Canara Union, Malleswaram Bangalore, We appeal to you to lend your support by becoming a donor/ sponsor by making a small contribution of Rs. 200 towards our souvenir printing as well as fund raising to continue with our journey.  Kindly visit our website to get a better understanding of our activities and take a look at product photos.

As over the years overheads like rent, water, electricity, material and transport costs have all gone up considerably  and continue to go up every year, It is becoming more and more difficult and quite a struggle to run the unit efficiently without sufficient funding.  Our main overhead being  rent costing the unit about RS. 20,000 per month, hence this appeal.  We encourage you to visit our unit Urvee. Our products are handmade, very special, beautifully designed and eco friendly.  We are open 6 days a week Monday to Saturday between 10.30 a.m and 6.00 p.m. Unit located at 106/31, 12th cross,10th main, Malleswaram, Bangalore 560003.
